The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 373
When Rosalie pushed open the door of the CEO’s Office, she saw a tall figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window and staring
at the Strico skyline.
Rosalie got
the odd impression that this scene was similar to a poster. With him standing there, it felt like the whole Strico was under his
control.
It was true because he was powerful and influential in Strico.
He was no longer as frail and alone as he had been in the early morning.
“Jon,” she said.
He looked her way and grinned. “There you are.”
“Yeah, I brought you a lunchbox. Let’s see if you like it.” She made her way to the coffee table and set the food down.
He then walked over, popped the lunchbox’s lid open, and sat down on the couch.
Rosalie remembered the days when she used to eat lunch with him every day in his office.
“Is it tasty?” Rosaline asked expectantly, not knowing whether the cuisine she chose today was to his liking.
“Yet, not bad,” he replied.
“That’s good.” She breathed a sigh of relief.
“By the way, do you suffer headaches very often these days? I’ll make an appointment with a doctor for you. What do you
say?” Jonathan spoke out of the blue.
Rosalie paused and hurriedly said, “That’s not necessary. I have been seeing a doctor.”
“But that doctor is obviously not good at it. Didn’t you have a headache again when you were at the exhibition?”
Rosalie suddenly felt guilty. “I... I’ve seen another doctor.”

He stared at her. “Really?”
“Yes... Yeah.” She dipped her head and carried on with her lunch.
Under his gaze, she felt a growing sense of guilt.
She could feel his eyes on her right now although she did not look up.
“Don’t you need me to find a better doctor for you?”
“Not for the time being... I have made another appointment with the doctor for tomorrow. I guess I’ll wait and see,” Rosalie
answered.
Tomorrow, she would know whether she had lost her memories and whether she had ever met Calvin when she was a kid.
After tomorrow... She thought, “If there is a result tomorrow, I will explain everything to him.”
“Okay,” Jonathan’s voice sounded. “Then wait for tomorrow.”
Rosalie was too preoccupied at this point to notice the flashing grimness on Jonathan’s face.
When they finished eating, Rosalie cleaned the table and picked up a fruit knife and an apple, asking Jonathan, “Do you want an
apple? I’ll peel one for you.”
“Okay.” His voice was slightly lower than usual.
Rosalie began to concentrate on peeling the apple with clumsiness while Jonathan watched her movements.
It was difficult for her fingers to exert force.
He was aware that her finger bones had been crushed and broken when she was imprisoned, causing her knuckles to be slightly
deformed.
Before that, things that were previously easy for her to do had now become challenging for her.
Now she was having a hard time peeling an apple for him.
She cared for him. She said that he was the only one she loved!

Jonathan kept repeating that to himself as he fixed his bright eyes on her hands, seemingly trying to convince himself of her love
for him.
When she finally finished peeling the apple, Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief and handed it to Jonathan. “Done. Here you
are.”
He grabbed it and took a bite. The luscious texture tingled in his mouth
“Is it sweet?” she asked.
“Yes, very sweet,” he replied.
“I’ll take one too. Then Rosalie picked up another apple and was about to peel it.
But the next moment, he stretched out his long arm and took her into his arms. “Why bother taking the effort to peel one
more?”
“Huh?” After a brief moment of shock, she stared as he brought the apple he had just bitten to her lips.
Her face suddenly blushed. He had taken a bite out of the apple, and now the bite mark was close to her lips.
“Do you want some?” He looked at her with a smile as if he was waiting for her decision.
She pursed her lips, leaned over slightly, and took a bite from the place he had bitten.
Um... It felt like she was kissing him indirectly.
Rosalie’s face was burning, and her heart skipped a beat. This was a feeling she had never experienced.
“Is it sweet?” he spoke into her ear in a low voice.
Rosalie was unsure of how to respond. She was unable to taste anything from the fruit in her mouth. And his question was. more
about an indirect kiss than about the apple.
Rosalie could only nod in a perfunctory manner.

Jonathan seemed to be pleased with her reaction. He smiled gently and stroked her red lips with his fingers. “I was thinking that
if you shook your head, I would feed you another bite to taste.”
Rosalie blushed even more.
“It’ll be your birthday next week. What do you have on your wish list?” he changed the topic and asked.
Upon hearing that, she immediately realized that her birthday was approaching.
Since she had been put in prison, only Lillian would celebrate her birthday every year all these years.
Lillian would pay her a visit to the prison with a cake and electric candles on her birthday and sing her a happy birthday
song.
After that, Lillian would eat it because prisoners weren’t allowed to eat the food brought in from outside.
On that occasion, Lillian even comforted her, “Rosalie, when you get out of prison, I’ll buy a huge cake and we can share it!”
Thinking of Lillian, Rosalie couldn’t help but smile. Lillian was always so cute. And finally, there was someone else to celebrate
her birthday other than Lillian.
Jonathan narrowed his eyes as he fixed his gaze on the smile she was wearing. “What’s on your mind right now?”
She glanced at him and added, “I was just thinking about how Lillian helped me celebrate my birthday. I’m not looking for
anything special. I don’t lack anything because you typically give me what I ask for. Or you can buy me a cake if I truly need
anything.
“Just a cake?” He was a little taken aback because he hadn’t anticipated that her requested present would only be a cake.
