Chapter 384
“My sister said that a man like Jonathan would never really love a woman! He can’t believe in women at all. The only person he
can believe in this world is himself!” Yvette said.
Rosalie would be abandoned by him unless she could make Jonathan trust her without doubt. Otherwise, as long as there was a
smidgeon of suspicion... Yvette’s eyes flashed with malice.
Jonathan was nuts. Melanie was madly in love with him back then and desired to marry him, even if Jonathan had no feelings for
her. However, when Melanie died, he did not shed a tear for her.
And now, Yvette wanted to see what would happen to Rosalie in the end.
It was Rosalie who made her so miserable now. She would make her feel the pain again when Rosalie was abandoned by
Jonathan in the future.
Although the Xanthos family and the Hamilton family had used a lot of connections and spent a lot of money to try to suppress
the news, Yvette being blacklisted by the industry remained the top trending topic for three days.
The two families received the news that not just one group of people desired to make this news the top trending topic. Therefore,
Yvette completely lost her face.
Lillian was in a good mood. She read the trending topics every day and praised Callum many times. She even took a screenshot
and printed it to remember it.
Callum was speechless.
“By the way, the day after tomorrow will be your birthday. Will you celebrate it in the Youngblood Residence?” Lillian asked
Rosalie on the phone.
Rosalie had said before that because her birthday fell on the seventh day following her grandmother’s death, she wanted to keep
it small this year.
“Yes. If Callum is free, you can come with him,” Rosalie said, inviting them to attend her birthday party.
“Okay, wait a minute. Let me ask him,” Lillian said, looking up at Callum. “The day after tomorrow is Rosalie’s birthday. Are you
free to go with me?”
“Sure,” Callum replied. Rosalie was Lillian’s best friend. Since she invited them over, he would love to go with Lillian.
After all, he would value the people Lillian cherished.
“Then I’ll come with Callum the day after tomorrow,” Lillian answered on the phone.
“Great!” Rosalie said. After talking for a while, they ended the call.
Rosalie put down her phone and turned to Jonathan. “I invited Lillian, Callum, Amelia, and Aiden over to celebrate my birthday
the day after tomorrow.”
Jonathan slightly pursed his thin lips. “I promise I’ll throw a grand birthday banquet for you next year.”
Rosalie grinned. “No need. I’ll be quite delighted as long as I spend my birthday with people who are truly nice to me. I don’t care
whether it is grand or not at all. I am looking forward to the cake you make for me.”
Jonathan took her hand and said, “Okay. I’ll make you a perfect cake the day after tomorrow.”
A superior man like Jonathan was willing to make a cake for her. Rosalie thought, “If Grandma is still alive, she must be happy
for me that I have found a man who loves me so much.”
Her grandma wouldn’t have to worry about her anymore because Jonathan would stay by her side and take care of her.
“Tomorrow is the last day of the mourning period for Grandma. I’ll go back to the Lopez residence tomorrow,” Rosalie said.
“Then I’ll ask the driver to drive you there. When I finish my conference in the morning, I’ll go to you,” Jonathan replied.
“Don’t trouble yourself. Anyway, I will go back soon after the funeral and visit her grave,” she said.
“It’s no trouble at all.” Jonathan insisted. “Rosalie, I’ll go over to pay her last respects because she is your grandmother.”
Rosalie felt warm in her heart. Tears stung her eyes. She suddenly wrapped her hands around his waist and buried her face
in his chest.
This was how it felt to be cherished by someone.
Jonathan looked at Rosalie who took the initiative to embrace him and gently stroked her hair with his hand. “Do you have any
wishes for your birthday?”
She thought, “Wishes?” Her biggest wish after being released from prison was to get the conviction overturned and to seek
justice for herself. But it had already come true.
But now her wish was... “No matter what I wish, will you fulfill me?” she asked, looking up at him.
“Yes, I’ll fulfill your wish no matter what,” he answered with great certainty.
“Then I’ll tell you about it on my birthday,” Rosalie said softly.
She didn’t want him to take any risks for her. She only wanted him to trust her, know how much she loved him, stop being
insecure, and stop giving her vulnerable and lonely glance once more because her heart would ache for him.
“Okay,” Jonathan replied. “Then tell me your wish on your birthday. I will fulfill it for you.”
At the same time, Warren was standing in front of the French window in the presidential suite of the hotel. Looking at the neon
lights outside the window, he held his phone and told Irene on the other end of the phone, “I need to stay in Strico for a while and
come back later.”
“What happened? Is your merger plan not going smoothly?” Irene asked worriedly.
For some reason, she always felt that Warren’s voice sounded a little strange, but she was not certain.
“No. It’s because of something else,” Warren replied. He didn’t want to explain it in detail.
Irene took the hint and changed the topic. “Well, my parents have been urging us to get married. My father said October is a
great month to be married this year. What do you think, Warren?”
Warren frowned at her words and hated the topic.
He selected Irene to be his woman, so he should marry her. But why did another woman keep popping into his head, crying and
telling him she would never want to see him again?
“Let’s talk about it when I get back,” Warren said.
Irene was not satisfied with his ambiguous answer, but she didn’t dare to say anything more on the phone. She could agree
obediently.
She was not young anymore. She previously thought Warren would have fallen in love with her after she put Amelia in jail.
However, she only felt them grow apart over the years.
Thinking of Amelia, Irene felt jealousy and hatred in her heart.
Warren also couldn’t breathe when he thought of Amelia.
After ending the call, Warren’s eyes fell on the night view outside the window again.
