The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 389
“Am I heavy?” the little boy said, feeling a little embarrassed.
“Yeah, very heavy,” the little girl said directly, walking with difficulty at every step.
“I’m sorry for having asked you to carry me, but if you get hurt one day, I’ll do the same thing for you!” The boy sounded a little
anxious. He seemed to be afraid that the little girl would hate him for being useless.
“How long can you carry me? You may not last long!” The little girl didn’t seem to be optimistic about the little boy’s strength.
Although he was older than her, he seemed to need her protection along the way.
“I can carry you forever!” The little boy blurted out.
At that time, neither of them understood what “forever” meant.
Images kept showing up and combining, and then they turned into a clear memory.
Rosalie only felt drowsy, trying to open her eyes, but she failed no matter how hard she tried. She just felt that her body was
going up and down, shaking slightly.
It felt like someone was carrying her forward.
She thought, “Who is he? Who is carrying me?”
“Cal...” When she muttered unconsciously, Calvin, who was carrying her all the way on his back, instantly froze and stopped.
She was calling him by his nickname.
He thought, ‘I told not to
She has been trying to keep

distance from me, but she sometimes acts so strangely. What does she want?’

“Listen to me carefully if you’re awake, Rosalie. You can call me anything you want, but not Cal! You’re not allowed to call me
that!” Calvin said coldly and continued to walk towards the foot of the mountain.
Rosalie felt a voice ringing in her ears. She thought, “Whose voice is this? Who is talking? And who is carrying me?”
She opened her eyes with some difficulty and saw a broad shoulder and a beautiful neck. It was Calvin!
Rosalie trembled with shock, and her body froze instantly.
“Are you awake?” Calvin said again.
It took her a while to calm down before she nodded and said, “What happened to me just now?”
“You kept screaming in pain and then passed out.” He said, “Was it your headache again? Didn’t Jonathan take you to the
doctor?”
He remembered that she had a headache the last time she was at the exhibition.
“I’m going to see the doctor in a few days,” Rosalie said. She still felt a little dizzy, but she knew that she didn’t need to go to the
doctor anymore. She wouldn’t have a headache because of those memories anymore.
Because she had already remembered it all.
She remembered how she met him when she was a kid, how they spent time in this mountain back then, and how she carried
him down the mountain and sent him to the hospital.
At that time, she thought that when he got better, they would see each other again soon.
However, neither of them expected that it would take them nearly 20 years to meet again.
He had been looking for her, but she had already forgotten him.
Rosalie stared blankly at this man who was carrying her all the way forward, having tears in her eyes.
Just like what he said back then, he would carry her forward if she got hurt. The problem was that it wouldn’t take them any
further.
Because the person she loved was not him!

“I won’t come back to this mountain again, Calvin. What happened in the past should be left in the past, You should learn to
move on,” Rosalie said.
She didn’t want him to keep getting stuck in the past like this or be deceived by Fiona, but given her relationship with him, she
couldn’t find a proper way to say that.
Calvin sneered and said, “Why did you say that, Rosalie?”
She froze.
“I’ve heard that you and Fiona have always been at odds, right? You know what, she’s the one who saved me years ago. Does
that make you uncomfortable?” he said.
She knew he was misunderstanding her. “I just don’t want you to be fooled.”
“Really? Do you think Fiona is capable of doing that?” Calvin sounded very confident.
After all, Fiona was just an ordinary woman who came from a small town. She didn’t go to college and lacked knowledge and
experience.
Calvin, however, was the young master of the Gunner family who had met a lot of people and was the big shot of the
entertainment industry. He could easily get information about someone from his childhood to adulthood.
There was no way a woman with a poor family and little education could fool him.
Rosalie knew that it was useless for her to say more at this moment.
After all, she should also be to blame for all of it. She was lying to him too.
“Just put me down. I can walk by myself!” Rosalie said.
However, Calvin didn’t stop. “I’m afraid you won’t be able to reach the foot of the mountain before night if you insist. I don’t have
the time to take care of you until dark.
“You can go down first. I’ll just walk down the mountain slowly by myself,” she said. Anyway, she knew how to get down the
mountain, and she could do it herself. It was just a matter of time.

“I won’t leave you behind.” Calvin said, “Even if I were with someone else on this mountain, I wouldn’t leave him behind. I
wouldn’t even do that to a stranger. You don’t have to take it personally and keep a distance from me.”
Rosalie was stunned because as far as she knew, Calvin wasn’t a warm-hearted person. Instead, he could be called cruel. She
had seen his ex-girlfriend begging him before, but he was so indifferent that he showed no mercy to her.
She thought, “How could such a person say that he wouldn’t leave anyone behind?”
Calvin continued as if he had noticed her confusion, “If we were at any other place, I would have left you behind without
hesitation, but not here!”
Because this was the place where he was saved by the little girl in the past. She never gave up on him, so he would never do
that to others.
He felt that this ordinary mountain had become a holy place in his heart.
The strange thing was after he bought the doughnut for Fiona earlier today, he was in no mood to go shopping in the town with
her. He asked the driver to send her to the mall and then he came here alone.
He never expected to see Rosalie here!
