The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 418
He remained calm and gently held her hand. “Yes, I’m willing. Even if the person you want to deal with is Jonathan, I can be your
weapon.”
For her, he could oppose anyone, as long as it was her desire.
It was because he loved her so deeply.
Yes, he did love her.
However, he never told her about it.
He was angry with her, resented her, and blamed her, but ultimately, he found that all these emotions couldn’t surpass his love
for her.
Over the three years of separation, he thought he hated her, but deep down, he was still in love with her. Every day, he couldn’t
help but think of her, and his love grew even deeper without him realizing it.
“Lillian, I will only be your weapon alone in this lifetime,” he stated.
In an instant, Lillian could feel her heart beating rapidly.
His gaze and voice seemed like an invisible web that had captured her entirely.
The next morning, Rosalie was awakened by her own phone’s alarm. Her head was still a little dizzy. There was a note left by
Lillian on the bedside table, informing her that it was Lillian who sent her back last night.
Besides the note, there was also a set of new clothes and a pair of new shoes on the bedside table/
Those were gifts from Lillian to celebrate her finding a new job.
As she looked at those things, Rosalie’s eyes were filled with tears.
Due to the effects of alcohol, her head still throbbed faintly. Therefore, after hurriedly freshening up, Rosalie decided to skip
breakfast and hopped onto the bus.
As the bus made its leisurely way along the road, the memories of last night began trickling back into her mind.

She vaguely remembered that after leaving Night Sky last night, it seemed like she had encountered Jonathan.
However, after that, her memory became a bit fuzzy. She seemed to have exchanged quite a few words with the other person,
but she couldn’t recall exactly what she had said.
Rosalie had a mild headache as she massaged her temples. Anyway, she had already spoken her mind, and there was no use
dwelling on it now.
Meeting him yesterday had been a coincidence, and chances were slim that they’d cross paths again.
Thinking about how he had stepped in to protect her from that drunken man at Night Sky yesterday, Rosalie’s heart ached-
once more.
It seemed that even after the breakup, she still relied on him to help her out of trouble again.
However, that wouldn’t be an option anymore in the future!
“From now on, I’ll have to handle everything on my own!” she silently told herself this in her heart.
Upon arriving at the office, some of her colleagues were already there. Those who had been chatting together stopped their
conversation as soon as they saw her enter. All eyes turned toward her, and they were filled with curiosity, scrutiny, disdain, and
mockery.
In fact, Rosalie had long been immune to those peculiar gazes.
She put down her bag, turned on the computer, and went to the pantry to get herself a glass of water.
It was at this moment that a female colleague who had joined her for a meal the day before approached Rosalie with curiosity
and asked, “Rosalie, are you... really Jonathan’s girlfriend? Did he help pay the bill yesterday?”
After all, there were plenty of women who disdained using the money of their bossy and rich boyfriends nowadays. While dating
a CEO, they preferred to continue living a tough life.
That female colleague thought it was highly likely to be the case for Rosalie. A moment ago, a few of Rosalie’s colleagues
gathered to discuss who footed the bill last night.
“No,” Rosalie denied. Even if she used to be his girlfriend, it was not the case now.

The female colleague looked utterly surprised. She didn’t expect Rosalie to deny it so decisively. “Huh? No? But Elodia said...”
“Does it become true just because she said so?” Rosalie asked.
That female colleague was left momentarily speechless, unable to reply.
Rosalie, holding the cup of water she had just poured, calmly exited the pantry and returned to her desk to resume her
work.
Love had become a thing of the past for her. Her sole focus was on excelling at work, thriving in this city, and striving diligently to
regain her position as a lawyer.
Only by doing so could she truly live up to the expectations of those who loved her.
Throughout the entire morning at work, Lillian couldn’t concentrate. Callum’s face and his words kept occupying her thoughts.
He said he could be the weapon in her hands, even if it meant dealing with Jonathan.
No man had ever spoken such words to her!
No matter how one listened to words like these, they sounded like sweet nothings! When it came to dealing with Jonathan, it was
likely that the entire White Maple Group would be involved. Any rational person wouldn’t be willing to engage in such a loss-
making endeavor.
However, when Callum uttered those words, they somehow felt genuine to her.
It was like he could sacrifice everything he had worked so hard to attain at White Maple Group all these years just for her.
And usually, when a man was willing to go to these lengths for a woman, the most plausible explanation was that he had- fallen
in love with her!
“Could Callum really have fallen for me?” she thought to herself.
Just the thought of it left Lillian feeling uncertain.
Callum might hold resentment toward her, but loving her... The biggest possibility was to make her fall in love with him, and
when she really fell in love, it would be time for his revenge.

That seemed to be the most reasonable explanation.
However, her heart remained restless.
“Lillian!” a voice suddenly rang in her ears, snapping Lillian back to reality.
It was only then that she realized she had already arrived at the bidding event.
There were multiple land plots to be bid on today, and organizations like their design institute usually cultivate favorable
relationships with real estate companies. For today’s land bidding, several well-established real estate companies based in
Strico also participated.
The director of the design institute where Lillian worked brought along several designers to be among the first to receive updates
on the land bidding. Their aim was to establish connections and assess the possibility of winning the design project.
Lillian was one of the designers who came along.
One of the land plots being auctioned today was a popular commercial area. According to the development plans, it will be
developed into a combination of a shopping mall and a hotel-style condominium. Lillian was quite interested in this project.
After all, anyone with a passion for design was likely to have some thoughts about challenging projects. However, Lillian
reckoned that such projects probably wouldn’t be assigned to them given the size and capacity of her design institute.
