Chapter 540
Lillian and Callum arrived at the Youngblood residence, but they did not see Jonathan at all.
According to the butler of the Youngblood residence, Jonathan had never brought Rosalic back here.
Lillian requested to enter the Youngblood residence to look around, but the butler flatly refused her. So, Lillian had to stand
helplessly at the entrance of the Youngblood residence, stomping her foot in frustration.
Callum observed his anxious girlfriend and began understanding how important Rosalie was to Lillian.
“If someone took me away, would you be this eager to find me?” Callum asked.
Lillian hesitated for a moment, then chuckled in amusement. “At a time like this, you’re asking such a question? You’re not
jealous of Rosalie, are you?”
“What if I really am jealous?” Callum stared at Lillian.
Lillian blinked. After thinking for a moment, she suddenly leaned in, tiptoed, and grabbed Callum’s collar. Pulling him down, she
planted a quick kiss on his lips. “There, I love you. Rosalie is my best friend, so there’s no need to be jealous.”
Callum couldn’t help but smile wryly.
That kiss felt a bit too perfunctory!
Lillian continued to urge Callum, “Quick, help me think of a way to get into the Youngblood residence. Or should we just climb
over this iron gate?”
After saying that, she seemed eager to take action. Shocked, Callum grabbed Lillian, preventing her from taking any reckless
actions. “Are you trying to get yourself killed? The top of that gate has high-voltage wires. If someone inside activates them,
you’ll be electrocuted!”
Lillian was startled, and her face paled. “Nothing works. So, how can we find out if Rosalie is inside?”
She was genuinely concerned for Rosalie’s safety. Even though Jonathan still loved Rosalie at this point, Rosalie no longer loved
Jonathan!
Lillian paced back and forth. Callum rubbed his temples, relieved that Rosalie was a woman. Otherwise, he’d have an incredibly
powerful and nearly unbeatable love rival!
“Let’s check the surveillance cameras,” Callum suggested. “I’ll have someone check the nearby surveillance footage, and we can
see if Jonathan brought Rosalie back here.”
Lillian’s eyes brightened. “Right, if we check the surveillance, we might not only find out if Jonathan came back here but also.
where he took Rosalie. Is that right?”
Callum frowned slightly. “Not necessarily. If we can think of checking surveillance, do you think Jonathan wouldn’t? With his
abilities, he could easily avoid being captured on camera if he didn’t want anyone to know where he took her.”
Lillian’s expression darkened. “What about Rosalie?”
“Let’s check first,” Callum reassured her. “For now, let’s take it one step at a time. Who knows,/maybe by tomorrow morning,
Rosalie will have returned to her rented apartment?”
Lillian bit her lower lip slightly, feeling helpless at this point.
On the other hand, Rosalie had no idea that Jonathan intended to keep her here and had taken her phone away.
At this moment, she couldn’t even contact anyone outside.
She bit her lip and looked at the torn dress on the floor. Originally an exquisite gown, it was now torn like a rag.
She couldn’t help but smile bitterly. She did not expect the dress given to her by “Cal” would end up like this in just one night.
Images from last night came to her mind.
Last night, after she said, “Jonathan, I don’t want you,” he finally did not force himself on her and chose to leave the room
instead.
She had spent the entire night in this room, wide awake.
The room’s door was not locked, but she knew that if he said he wanted to keep her there, she wouldn’t be able to leave this
mansion even if she walked out the door.
Just then, the room’s door was pushed open, and Jonathan walked in, holding a stack of clothes.
“Awake?” He looked at Rosalie, who was sitting up in bed, wrapped in a sheet.
She bit her lip, not saying anything. She just glared at him.
Unconcerned, he walked over to her. “These are clothes for you to change into. Shall I help you put them on? We need to see if
they fit.”
“No!” She quickly refused. “I can dress myself.”
“Sure, you can dress yourself.” He did not insist and simply placed the clothes beside her.
She stared at him, wondering how she was supposed to dress with him here.
Seeming to understand her hesitation, he said, “When we lived together before, you changed clothes in front of me, didn’t you?”
“Back then, you were my boyfriend, the person I loved. But now you’re not,” she replied.
His expression changed slightly, and then he slowly closed his eyes. “Fine, I won’t look. You can change.”
She was taken aback as she did not expect him to close his eyes.
At this moment, with his eyes closed and standing so still, he looked like a perfect sculpture. His thick black eyelashes cast
shadows on his eyelids like a fan.
Rosalie bit her lip and finally began to change.
Although she knew he couldn’t see anything with closed eyes, her cheeks still inexplicably turned red after changing.
“I-I’m done changing,” she said hesitantly.
He slowly opened his eyes again to look at her.
“Is your face red because of me?” he asked.
She pursed her lips and remained silent.
He leaned slightly closer, his face getting closer to hers. “So, you still have feelings for me, right?”
“No!” she exclaimed and turned her face away. “Even if it were someone else, I-I would still blush.”
His face suddenly darkened. Just when Rosalie thought he might be angry, he bent down and picked up a pair of socks lying
nearby.
Now that she had finished changing her clothes, she hadn’t put on her socks yet.
She sat on the edge of the bed, and he knelt in front of her, carefully helping her put on the socks one by one.
Rosalie remained stiff, looking at Jonathan in this posture. She couldn’t describe the strange feeling in her heart.
“Jonathan, can’t you just let me go?” she murmured.
Maintaining his kneeling posture, he slightly tilted his chin, looking at her with half-closed eyes. “And what about you? Can’t you
love me again?”
