The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 542
The car drove to one of the parts of Ocean Street. Moving further up, food stalls lined the side of the road.
Warren asked the driver to pull over, and then he got out of the car alone.
“Mr. York, if you want to have midnight snacks here, I can recommend a few,” the driver said.
“No need,” Warren refused and walked toward the bustling place ahead.
In Warren’s opinion, the food stalls and carts were incomparably simple. He wouldn’t go to such a place at all on normal days.
However, that day, he finally caught a glimpse of a slender figure.
In the bustling crowds, even if the figure was mixed in it, he could still catch sight of her at first glance. She was so thin, wearing
old brown clothes and pants and an apron. She was really different from before when she was by his side.
P
At that moment, Amelia was cooking the dishes with her head down. The hot air from the pan billowed toward her beautiful face.
Her movements were skillful, and even with her slender arms, she was effortlessly cooking the dishes like an expert.,
Warren suddenly thought of the past when she said that she would cook for him, but it turned out to be a mess. Finally, he made
some tomato soup with carrots and they both had a wonderful meal together.
At that time, she said with a smile, “Warren, just wait. I will definitely make a delicious meal every day in the future! I will definitely
be a good wife and keep you plump!”
Then, she burst into laughter.
“What are you laughing at?” he asked suspiciously.
“I was wondering what you would look like after you gain weight,” she said. “Haha! Will the two of us become a couple of fatties
when my cooking skill improves?”
In the end, her cooking skills seemed to have improved now, but she was thinner than before.

After Amelia cooked the dishes and served them to customers, she sighed tiredly. She wiped the sweat on her forehead and felt
a little worried.
Although those troublemakers didn’t come yesterday, she wondered if they would come today.
It wasn’t as if she didn’t want to set up stalls in other places, but there were a lot of people here, so a small business like hers
could still make some money. If she went to another place, her income would be much lower. By then, she would have less
money to raise Aiden. Not to mention, her mother was getting old, so she often had some minor health problems. Although those
medical expenses were only several hundred dollars at a time, the sum became considerable when accumulated.
In the future, her expenses would only increase, so she needed to make more money.
At that moment, she saw a man in a suit approaching. She thought, “There’s another customer.” Amelia quickly raised her head
and put on a smile. “Sir, how may I...
After saying that, all the remaining words got stuck in her throat. The smile on her face froze instantly, and her face turned pale.
Warren looked at Amelia indifferently and said, “Give me one portion of each of the dishes you have here.”
The voice of the man in front of Amelia sounded so close yet, at the same time, so far.
“One portion of each dish will be quite a large amount. Mr. York. If you eat alone, you won’t finish it all,” Amelia said, barely
suppressing her shock.
“You set up a stall to make money, and I spend money on food. As for whether I can finish it or not, you about it.” After saying
that, Warren walked to one of the empty tables and sat down.
shouldn’t worry
His exquisite and elegant appearance was incompatible with his surroundings.
Amelia didn’t expect Warren to come here and order food. She wondered, “What is he playing at?”
She was cooking while thinking about it.
After the dishes were cooked one by one, she brought them to a small square table in front of him. It didn’t take long for the small
square table to be filled with dishes.

Amelia was glad that her food cart only served ten dishes in total. Otherwise, that small square table would not fit all of the food.
Just as Amelia served the last dish, Warren suddenly said, “You’re better at cooking now than before.”
Amelia’s body trembled slightly. “People change.”
She thought, “If I behave like I used to, I’m afraid I won’t be able to raise Aiden at all! Just like now, I no longer take care of
my skin with various skincare products as before. Last time, I even put on light makeup when going out. Now, I only apply a
cheap bottle of cream when the weather is cold. As for makeup... That’s a luxury far beyond me now.”
Her hands were scalded with blisters because she wanted to learn cooking skills. Even if those blisters had faded away, there
were still scars left on her hands. Her palms were also covered with calluses. Her hands were no longer in the same condition as
before, too.
After saying that, Amelia went to greet the other guests. Warren looked at her being busy, and his eyes darkened. He thought,
“She’s greeting the customers with a smile even when she’s so tired. But her smile seems so humble now, which is different from
her usual dazzling and cheerful grins.”
Warren picked up his fork and began to eat the food in front of him.
He ate every bite very slowly as if he was savoring the taste.
Amelia did her best to ignore Warren’s existence and only treated him as an ordinary guest. But as time went by, the number of
people on the road gradually became fewer and fewer, and his presence seemed to become more eye-catching. He was still
sitting in a chair, eating the dishes slowly. He looked so elegant and graceful, forming a great contrast with the surroundings.
Therefore, many people passing by would look at him.
There was even a woman, dressed revealingly, looking like she had just come out of the nightclub, who walked to Warren’s
table, pulled a chair, and sat down. Then, she said seductively, “Sir, how about having dinner with me? I can do whatever you
want tonight.”
The meaning of her words was obvious enough.
However, the person she was talking to was Warren, so how could a man like him be interested in such a woman?

Warren glanced at her coldly and said, “Get lost.”
His tone was casual, but it made the woman feel a chill traveling down her spine. She felt as if she wouldn’t live to see tomorrow
if she lingered there.
