The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 550
At that moment, she felt a constant tightening within herself. His certainty made her feel anxious.
He was willing to devote his life, but what should she use to wager against him?
Amelia talked to Lillian on the phone before she found out that Rosalie had been taken away by Jonathan, but no one knew
where he had taken her. As for when Rosalie would return, that was also unknown.
However, according to Lillian, the fact that Rosalie could make a phone call meant that at least she was not in any immediate
danger.
“We can only do this for now. I’ll find a way to figure out where Jonathan has taken Rosalie,” Lillian said. “Amelia, don’t worry
about your case. If Rosalie doesn’t reappear within a week, I’ll have Callum find another lawyer.”

“Thank you so much for your help,” Amelia said gratefully.
“It’s no trouble at all. As long as you and Aiden are okay,” Lillian replied.
In the afternoon, when Amelia went to pick up her son from kindergarten, she was still worried about Rosalie’s situation.. Rosalie
had fallen in love with someone like Jonathan, and she did not know if that was a good or a bad thing.
They had broken up last time, but now Jonathan wanted Rosalie again and took her away. Amelia wondered if Rosalie was fine,
as she had claimed on the phone..
As she walked to the kindergarten gate, Amelia suddenly snapped out of her thoughts and quickly straightened her clothes.
Every time she came to pick up Aiden, she paid special attention to her appearance. She did not have much money for dressing
up, but at least she wanted to look clean and presentable.
Thinking about Aiden, who had been talking excitedly about interesting things at the kindergarten every day, gave her some
comfort.
It seemed like sending Aiden to this kindergarten was the right choice.

The teachers here took good care of Aiden, and the other children in his class were kind and did not discriminate against him
wearing a hearing aid.
She just hoped that Aiden could grow up healthy and happy, just like any other child.
However, as she was about to enter the kindergarten to pick up her son, she suddenly froze.
Through the iron gate of the kindergarten, she saw a figure that should not be there. She thought, “Warren! Why did he come
here?”
Especially at this moment, Warren was holding Aiden’s hand while talking to other
parents.
Aiden stood obediently by Warren’s side, tilting his chin slightly, looking very focused on Warren. The expression on her son’s
face was something Amelia had never seen before.
She felt her body tense up, and her heart rate accelerated.
She stared through the iron gate at the two figures inside.
As if sensing her gaze, Warren slowly turned his head and looked in Amelia’s direction. In an instant, their eyes met, and
Amelia’s face became even paler.
“Mommy!” Aiden, who had also noticed Amelia, called out, but instead of running toward her as he usually did, he remained by
Warren’s side, gently tugging at Warren’s hand, urging him to bring him to Amelia.
Warren, still holding Aiden, walked slowly toward Amelia.
“W-What are you doing here?” Amelia asked in a hoarse voice.
“I came to see Aiden. After all, he’s my son, isn’t he?” Warren said calmly.
Amelia felt a mixture of emotions. His words sounded so matter-of-fact, just like when he had said that even if she got pregnant,
she should have an abortion.
Not wanting to show their adult disputes in front of their child, Amelia restrained herself from saying more.

“Let’s go, Aiden,” Amelia said. In a little while, she would need to go to her food cart and hand Aiden over to her mother.
“But Daddy just said he would take us back today,” Aiden said.
Amelia instinctively wanted to refuse, but Warren’s following words stopped her from saying anything.
“Aiden, do you like it when I take you back?” Warren asked.
“Yes,” Aiden replied with a clear voice filled with innocence and joy.
Amelia looked at the happy expression on her son’s face and bit her lip, not saying anything more..
At this moment, many parents who were coming to pick up their children at the kindergarten were looking in their direction. The
contrast between Warren’s sophistication and Amelia’s humble appearance was stark.
It was as if they should not be standing together.
Amelia was not used to this kind of attention, or perhaps, since her release from prison, she did not like the feeling of being
watched by so many people. She was afraid that people would find out about her time in prison, afraid that it would have a
negative impact on her son.
“Well, let’s go!” Amelia lowered her head and hurriedly said.
Warren glanced at her, then bent down to pick up Aiden and walked toward the parking lot near the kindergarten.
The driver was already waiting there, and as soon as he saw the three of them, he respectfully opened the car door.
Warren sat in the car first, holding Aiden, while Amelia stood by the car door. For a moment, she had a dazed expression.
“What’s the matter? Get in the car!” Warren said.
Amelia took a deep breath and got into the car, sitting next to Warren.
Fortunately, Aiden was sitting between them, which made Amelia feel a bit less uncomfortable.
At this moment, Aiden was a bit excited. He looked left and right, sometimes at Amelia and sometimes at Warren. For him,
having both his parents sitting beside him was a new and intriguing experience.

“Mommy, is Daddy really my daddy?” Aiden’s clear voice rang out in the car.
The question sounded a bit strange, but Amelia understood what her son meant.
She looked at the longing in her son’s eyes and knew that he longed for a father. Whenever he saw other children playing with
their fathers, Aiden would show a look of longing.
She remembered the last time one of Rosalie’s former colleagues, Lucas, had taken Aiden to an amusement park with Rosalie.
Aiden had come home and talked excitedly about it for a long time. He said that Lucas had given him a piggyback ride, played
darts with him, and even lifted him high to see the cartoon animal parade at the amusement park.
Even though she had tried her best to play both mother and father roles for her child over the years, there were some things that
could not be replaced.
For example, a child’s longing for a father.
