The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 797
“Could this woman be...”
Suddenly, the faces of the store manager and the sales assistant who had sought to curry favor with Agyness grew pale with a
dawning realization. Rosalie graciously accepted the card without any hesitation and then turned to the junior sales assistant
who had been assisting her
throughout, saying, “I’ll take this dress then. Please have it wrapped up for me after I change out of it.”
“Sure, no problem...” answered the sales assistant, exhilarated. As a newcomer, securing such a substantial order felt like hitting
the jackpot for her.
Agyness was growing increasingly embarrassed at that moment. She had intended to leave quietly, picking up her bag, but
Rosalie halted her. “Ms. Sabatini, we’re not done here. Don’t you want to review the surveillance camera together?”
“No, there’s no need for that. I accidentally spilled the water on myself,” Agyness replied with an awkward laugh.
“Given that you’ve just admitted to splashing water on yourself, it implies that my friend was wrongly accused of doing so earlier,
Ms. Sabatini. Don’t you think an apology is in order, Ms. Sabatini?” Rosalie responded. Agyness was taken aback, and she
instinctively asked, “Apology?” “What’s wrong? Do you not think you should apologize for that?” Rosalie said coldly.
Agyness’ face involuntarily flushed with embarrassment. Ever since her daughter had become the adopted child of the
Youngblood family, she had always felt that her status was exceptional. Even high-society and affluent women had sought to
curry favor with her. When had she ever needed to apologize to anyone, especially to an ordinary person simply because that
person was Rosalie’s friend?
Plus, people around her were observing the situation. She would be humiliated if she really apologized.
“Ms. Sabatini, since Mrs. Youngblood asked you to apologize, it would be wise to comply. Otherwise, you will still have to
apologize when this matter reaches Mr. Youngblood’s attention,” Carlos interjected. Agyness had no choice but to grit her teeth
and apologize to Lillian.

The store manager and the sales assistant also offered their apologies, filled with fear. No one could have fathomed that one of
these seemingly ordinary women was the wife of Jonathan.
Not just anyone, but the famous Jonathan, whom no one could afford to offend in Strico.
Meanwhile, not far away, a woman gazed at Lillian’s countenance with a playful expression and a sly smile curling at the edges
of her lips.
Madeline hadn’t anticipated bumping into Lillian at such a place. What was more surprising was that the friend with her appeared
to be Jonathan’s wife.
However, even if the Youngblood family were willing to support Lillian, it wouldn’t make a difference. Callum was hers. She would
always succeed in winning over any man she decided to pursue without any exceptions.
When Rosalie went to change, Lillian accompanied her. On the other hand, Agyness, who wore a displeased expression and
was eager to leave, was halted by Carlos.
“W-What’s wrong, Mr. Gibson?” Agyness asked.
“Looks like your expenditures are quite high, Ms. Sabatini. The gowns here are not within the budget of an average person,”
Carlos commented. “I-I was just taking a look,” Agyness stammered, panicking.
“Just taking a look won’t hurt. It’s best to stay within one’s financial means and social standing when it comes to spending, Ms.
Sabatini. Chasing after things that are beyond your reach can ultimately lead to disappointment,” Carlos said in a stern tone.
Agyness was taken aback. It was crystal clear to her that Carlos was cautioning her against harboring any feelings for Jonathan.
“Y-Yes, I understand. I won’t engage in extravagant spending that doesn’t align with my social status,” Agyness stammered, then
practically scampered out of the shop.
At night, after tucking the two children into bed, Rosalie retired to her bedroom and began scouring the internet for any news
about Callum using her phone.
Although Jennifer’s single bedroom had been arranged, she still preferred sleeping with Guillermo these days.
Every night when it was time for bed, she would settle herself on Guillermo’s bed and insist that her brother tell her a bedtime
story.

Rosalie found it rather amusing.
Nevertheless, considering that the two children were still quite young, Rosalie also wished to foster a strong sibling bond
between them. Therefore, she allowed them to sleep together.
However, it was quite tough for Guillermo. He had always been a quiet child, but he was forced by his sister to become more
talkative.
Whenever Guillermo told Jennifer a story, she often complained that he didn’t put enough emotion into it. As a result, Guillermo
often found himself retelling the same story multiple times.
Rosalie had initially expected her son to grow impatient, but to her astonishment, he patiently recounted the same stories to his
younger sister repeatedly, displaying no signs of irritation.
Perhaps it was because of the bond between siblings. Guillermo was undoubtedly a wonderful older brother.
Contemplating this, Rosalie unconsciously smiled. Suddenly, a voice sounded in her ear. “What’s going on? Have you fallen for
Callum? You’re smiling as you look at his picture.”
Rosalie promptly snapped back to reality and noticed Jonathan standing behind her. Coincidentally, her phone screen displayed
news about Callum at that moment.
Her posture of lowering her head and focusing on her phone made it appear as if she were smiling at a photo of Callum, which
could lead to a misunderstanding.
“No, I was actually thinking about Jen and Guille. Plus, Callum is Lillian’s ex-boyfriend. I only looked at the news about him
because of his connection to Lillian,” Rosalie quickly clarified, worried about being misunderstood.
Jonathan gazed at Rosalie but remained silent for a moment.
“You... You know Callum is Lillian’s ex-boyfriend right?” she asked. After all, he had lost some of his memories.
“Yes, even if I don’t recall it in my mind, Carlos and the others would mention Callum and Lillian whenever they talked about
you,” Jonathan replied. He remembered that Carlos had mentioned Lillian got injured when she went to find Callum after leaving
Strico. Callum’s half-brother was the one who caused her to sustain severe injuries.

If it weren’t for Lillian, he and Rosalie might not have gotten married

back then.
Rosalie breathed a sigh of relief. At least she didn’t have to explain too much about this particular matter. “In short, I am not
interested in Callum,” said Rosalie.
“Really? Then who are you interested in?” he asked, the thin curve of his lips forming a faint smile.
His tone remained gentle yet carried a hint of coolness, and the subtle rise in the final note lent an unintentional allure,
heightened by his glittering eyes.
Rosalie stared at Jonathan and blushed slightly. She mused, “Does he want me to say the answer he expected?”
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Didn’t you always take the initiative?” he questioned with a light smile, which made her almost
unable to look
away.
“Well, I guess there’s nothing embarrassing about falling for someone of his charm!” she thought.
“I’m interested in you,” Rosalie said, blushing.
