The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 818
Jonathan was used to other people staring and wasn’t bothered at all. He simply looked down and asked Rosalie, “What flavor
do you want? Shall we order one of each?”
“Oh, don’t do that. That’s a waste.” Rosalie knew that even if he bought the whole cake shop, that amount of money was
insignificant to him. Despite that, she still didn’t want to waste money. “I’ll choose dark chocolate. What about you?”
“Anything is fine.” In truth, he didn’t really care about the cakes.
But since she wanted to eat, he would naturally be willing to do so with her.
Rosalie knew that Jonathan was not particularly fond of sweet things, so she chose a blueberry cake for him.
When the two slices of cake arrived, she used a small spoon to eat the dark chocolate cake first. The taste was indeed quite
special, as the milky notes were stronger than the other dark chocolate cakes she had had in the past. The texture was thicker,
too.
“It’s good. Would you like to try it?” Rosalie took a spoonful of the cake and raised it to Jonathan’s lips, her motions natural.
It was not until she finished doing this that she realized she was feeding him cake in public.
Although such actions were quite common between couples, the problem was that countless pairs of eyes were looking at them
at the
moment.
Rosalie was about to hand Jonathan the spoonful of cake, but he had already opened his lips to eat it.
“It tastes good.” Jonathan smiled.
Rosalie’s face turned red while many young women began whispering.
“Oh my God. That man just ate the cake fed by that woman!”
“That man is so handsome. Is he a celebrity?”
“Do you think they’re recording for a program? Is there an invisible camera next to them?”

Just then, a voice suddenly sounded. “Rosalie!”

Rosalie followed the voice and saw Lillian, but there was a man standing next to her friend.
The man had delicate features, and with his glasses, he appeared scholarly. People would like him at first sight.
“Who is this?” Rosalie asked curiously.
“Oh, this is my friend, Jerick Backman. Jerick, this is the best friend I mentioned before, Rosalie Leighton,” Lillian introduced.
“Hello, I’m Jerick.” Jerick politely reached out his hand.
“Hello, I’m Rosalie.” Rosalie moved to shake hands with Jerick, but Jonathan had already taken action.
Jonathan swiftly grabbed Jerick’s hand and uttered with a smile, “Hello, I’m Jonathan Youngblood, Rosalie’s husband.”
Rosalie wondered, “Could Jon have done that on purpose? Does he not like me shaking hands with Jerick?”
Because there was still some time left, they found a table in the corner of the cake shop and sat down together.
When Jerick and Lillian went to choose their cakes, Rosalie asked Jonathan, “Do you not like me shaking hands with other
men?”
Jonathan raised his eyebrows slightly and admitted frankly, “Yes.”
“It’s just normal social etiquette.” She said, “Besides, that man is a friend of Lillian.”
“I know, but you were staring at him for a long time earlier,” he said.
“Well... I’m just curious. After all, he doesn’t look like Lillian’s colleague.” Rosalie hurriedly explained, “Besides, I love you. I’m
not interested in other men at all!”
In response, he quirked his lips and looked at her with a smile as if it were his plan to lure her into saying this all along.
Rosalie blushed again.
Jonathan leaned over and said, “Rosalie, say that again.” His voice was seductively hoarse.

Rosalie’s face became even redder. Even after so many years, she would still blush while her heart raced when he acted like
this.
“I love you,” Rosalie said.
“Say it again.” His voice grew increasingly raspy, the deep tones

strumming at her heartstrings.
“The person I love is you. I love you...”
She repeated it over and over again as he wished.
Meanwhile, Jerick, who was selecting cakes with Lillian, stared at his right hand, seemingly in a daze.
“The man just now... Is he the Jonathan Youngblood?” He couldn’t help
but ask Lillian in a low voice, wanting to confirm he hadn’t misheard.
“Yeah.” Lillian nodded.
“As in, Jonathan Youngblood from Youngblood Group?”
“Yeah.” The answer was the same.
Jerick sucked in a deep breath. He hadn’t expected to meet who was essentially the king of Strico in a famous cake shop, let
alone that he would be the husband of Lillian’s friend.
Last time, it was Callum, the chairman of White Maple Group, who was beside Lillian. This time, he ran into Jonathan. Jerick
couldn’t help but wonder which bigshot he would meet the next time he was with Lillian. “What’s wrong?” Because Jerick had
been silent, Lillian asked.
“Nothing. I just didn’t expect your friend’s husband to be Jonathan,” Jerick answered.
“Back then, I didn’t expect that either, but it’s great that they can be together.” Lillian said, “If you feel uncomfortable, I can always
talk to Rosalie later. We can leave first.”

“No, even if he is Jonathan Youngblood, I just need to treat him as your friend’s husband.” Jerick smiled. “By thinking of him that
way, there’s nothing to be uncomfortable about.”
Lillian breathed a sigh of relief. Jerick had a way of making her feel relaxed and comfortable when around him.
Since the blind date, she and Jerick had gone out several more times. However, she realized she thought of him as more of a
friend than a boyfriend.
She didn’t feel pressured when getting along with Jerick, and they could chat about plenty of things. Unfortunately, she just didn’t
feel any sparks between them.
However, when she said so to her parents at home, her mother said sincerely, “Who cares about sparks? What’s more important
is to marry

someone suitable. Feelings can grow over time. How many people fall in love with each other at first sight?”
She thought, ‘Someone suitable?
Jerick and I do click as friends, but I’m not sure if he’s suitable husband material. Will I really develop feelings for him over time?
What about Jerick? Does he love me? Or is he also just looking for someone suitable to marry?’
