The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 926
Callum’s indifferent attitude to Lillian had made Rosalie furious. Rosalie slapped Callum in the face because she couldn’t control
herself.
“You just care too much about Lillian,” Jonathan said. “Besides, judging by Callum’s demeanor, the outcome would likely remain
the same, irrespective of whether the slap was delivered or not.”
When Callum heard Lillian’s name, the look in his eyes had suggested a sorrow so profound that it seemed as if death itself
could not compare.
From Jonathan’s perspective as a man, it wasn’t that Callum didn’t love Lillian and chose to leave her. Rather, it was that Callum
had been deeply wounded by her.
“But based on what Callum just said, it seems that Lillian might be the one who causes their problem. It’s Lillian who wants them
to have nothing to do with each other. Callum is just doing as he is told,” Jonathan said. “If you really want to know the answer,
you should ask Lillian.”
Rosalie sighed. “Then I’ll ask Lillian after she calms down... In fact, there is no point in asking. Callum doesn’t care about Lillian
at all given his attitude earlier. Even if they did get back together, Lillian might not be happy.”
“Maybe... it’s not that he doesn’t care, but because he cares too much that he’s hurt to the core,” Jonathan said thoughtfully.
“What do you mean?”
“I’m afraid Lillian has hurt Callum even more,” Jonathan said.
“How is that possible? What can Lillian do to hurt Callum? Lillian herself is lying in the hospital bed, and it’s still uncertain
whether she can keep the baby!” Rosalie said.
Jonathan stopped arguing with Rosalie on this issue and said, “I will talk to the people at Women’s Health Hospital later and ask
them to find a way to save Lillian’s baby no matter what.”
“Okay.” Rosalie nodded. Now, she only hoped that nothing would happen to the child in Lillian’s belly. Even if Lillian had decided
to separate from Callum, she could feel how much she cared about the baby.

In the evening, Rosalie received a call from her mentor, Connor Smuckler. Upon learning that Rosalie had located Zekiah whose
whereabouts had previously been unknown, Connor was overjoyed for Rosalie for quite some time.
On the phone, Connor said that he wanted to visit Rosalie’s three children in Strico, especially Jennifer. Jennifer grew up under
the watch of Connor, and Connor treated Jennifer as his own granddaughter. After Rosalie returned to Strico, Connor had been
wanting to see Jennifer.
“Kaylie will come with me at that time,” Connor said.
“Mrs. Smuckler is coming too?” Rosalie was surprised. After all, with Kaylie’s mobility issues and her inability to walk for
extended periods, she wasn’t fond of venturing to other places.
“Yeah. Kaylie has been eagerly expressing her desire to meet the three children recently. She has even personally prepared gifts
for them,” Connor said.
“Okay, I’ll pick you guys up at the airport, then!” After Rosalie ended the call, Jonathan’s arms wrapped around her waist as his
gentle voice rang out. “Who are you going to pick up?”
“My mentor Connor Smuckler and his wife Kaylie are coming to Strico. I’m going to pick them up,” Rosalie answered.
“I’ll go with you then,” Jonathan said.
“It’s fine. If you’re busy at work, I can go alone.”
“I’m going with you,” Jonathan insisted. “They are your mentors. Didn’t you always say that you were grateful to them and that
they were very kind to you and Jen? In that case, I, likewise, am grateful for them too!”
Rosalie leaned against Jonathan’s chest and murmured, “Yeah, they were very kind to me and Jen. If it weren’t for them, my life
there might have been much more miserable. Some time ago, Mr. Smuckler almost lost his reputation because of me. I feel quite
sorry for that.”

“Don’t worry, I will repay them. If they want anything, I can give it to them,” Jonathan said.

“Mr. Smuckler won’t accept them. He’s a man of integrity. Except for studying law, he has no special hobbies. What he cares
about most is Mrs. Smuckler. Her legs have always been an issue that weighs heavily on his mind.” When Rosalie said this, she
suddenly remembered something. “Oh, right, I’ll take Mrs. Smuckler to see Mr. Sabatini and see if he can treat her leg.”
“What happened to Mrs. Smuckler’s leg?” Jonathan asked.
“I think Mrs. Smuckler got into an accident and injured her knee. Since then, she has been limping and she can’t walk for a long
time. It’s difficult for her to go up and down the stairs as well. Mr. Smuckler has always said that he caused the accident. He felt
very sorry for Mrs. Smuckler. It’s just that for so many years, Mr. Smuckler has taken Mrs. Smuckler to many famous hospitals
across the country and seen many specialists, but Mrs. Smuckler’s leg hasn’t gotten any better,” Rosalie explained.
“When they come, you take them to Mr. Sabatini’s place first. I will also find some experts to look at Mrs. Smuckler’s leg,”
Jonathan said.
Three days later, Jonathan accompanied Rosalie to meet Connor and Kaylie at the airport.
Jonathan recognized Connor at a glance. After all, he had investigated everything about Rosalie in Lofbury before, and there
was naturally a lot of information about Connor. As for Kaylie, although Jonathan remembered that there was also a photo of her
in the file, Jonathan didn’t have any impression of Kaylie as he had just simply scanned through it.
Kaylie did not look old. She was almost 60 years old, but she looked like she was only 50 years old. She stood by Connor’s side
in simple and elegant clothes, making her look younger than him.
“Hello, I’m Jonathan. I have heard about you for a long time, but it is not until now that I have the chance to meet you. Thank you
for taking care of Rosie.” Jonathan shook hands with Connor politely.
When Jonathan stretched his hand toward Kaylie, Kaylie didn’t reach out but kept looking at Jonathan blankly.
Jonathan narrowed his eyes slightly. and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Oh, it’s nothing.” Kaylie’s face turned pale. She quickly reached out and shook hands with Jonathan. However, Kaylie quickly let
go of her hand as if she was afraid of something.
For a moment, the atmosphere was a little awkward.

“Mr. Smuckler, Mrs. Smuckler, the car is parked outside. Let me take you there,” Rosalie hurriedly said. “Okay, okay. Let’s get in
the car first,” Connor said, holding Kaylie’s hand and walking forward.
