Big Novel

The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 968
The explosion caused a stir in Strico.
The explosion caused the collapse of an abandoned building and damaged the constructions around it to varying degrees.
Many aides that came to help had immediately evacuated the people from nearby buildings. When the incident happened, it
instantly became trending news online.
As the situation escalated, many netizens found that Jonathan and his wife were also involved in this, and they became more
invested in the news.
However, the Youngblood family and the police had blocked all the news.
Everyone only knew that the criminal, Madeline, was dead. Simultaneously, the mercenaries helping Madeline with her crimes
were all detained in the detention center, waiting to be prosecuted.
At this moment, Rosalie lay on an operating table as the commotion outside grew further away from her. Reality felt like a dream
for her.
‘Am I... Am I still alive?
Jon and I are alive. We aren’t dead! We escaped!’ She exclaimed inwardly.
She still had the same lingering feeling of fear she felt during their escape. At that time, Jonathan’s subordinate climbed the rope
ladder downward and tied the rope around Jonathan’s body. Then, he quickly pulled them into the helicopter.
From the beginning to the end, he kept a firm hold on her hand without letting go.
If he released his grip, she would fall from the air.
When they were inside the helicopter, Rosalie noticed countless traces of blood on his body. It could be from the broken stones
during the collapse.
After all, he was wearing nothing above his waist. His body was pressed directly on the rough, cracked ground full of broken
stones. That meant his body was rubbing roughly against those sharp stones. Rosalie could only imagine the pain he must have
endured then.

However, he stretched out his hand and desperately pressed on her bleeding neck. “Rosie, I won’t let you get hurt. We’re
heading to the hospital right now. You’ll be okay.”
His face was covered in tears, and his eyes were scarlet. Paired with his blood-stained body, he seemed to
be in a more severe state.
She opened her mouth and wanted to say something, but he interrupted, “Stop talking. You can ask whatever you want after you
arrive at the hospital, and the doctor stops your bleeding. I’ll tell you everything.”
The helicopter soon arrived at the hospital. Even though Jonathan was covered in wounds, he still held Rosalie tightly and ran
directly to the operating room that had already been contacted beforehand. When Rosalie was moved into the operating room,
the last scene that entered her vision was Jonathan’s miserable silhouette and his pale, dirty face.
“He’s the Mr. Youngblood of Strico. How many times has he been this miserable?” She pondered. Yet, in her memory, the
handful of times when he was this miserable was all because of her.
“Mrs. Youngblood, we will give you anesthetics and then perform emergency surgery on your neck. If you agree, please blink
your eyes twice,” the doctor said to Rosalie in the operating room.
That was because it was not suitable for Rosalie to speak now.
Rosalie blinked her eyes twice, and the anesthesiologist prepared an anesthetic injection. Then, he slowly injected it into her
body.
Her consciousness gradually faded, and her last thoughts were her pondering, ‘I wonder how Jon is now. Are his injuries
serious? After my operation ends and I wake up again, I can probably see Jon then.
I have so much to ask and tell him...’
While Rosalie was in operation, Lillian was also undergoing various examinations. Especially now that
she was carrying a child in her body, some examinations could not be done, so the doctor could only judge based on their
knowledge.
Lillian had never been so nervous. She did not care how many injuries she suffered, but she was afraid of losing the baby inside
of her belly.

“Doctor, is my child okay? I’ll do anything as long as I can save this child!” Lillian said nervously after seeing the doctor frown.
“You are showing signs of a threatened miscarriage.”
As soon as Lillian heard the word “miscarriage,” she felt her limbs turn cold. “Miscarriage? Can’t the child be saved?”
Tears gushed out of her eyes.
“This is me and Callum’s child! Why can’t we save our child?” Lillian thought, and remembering the truth Madeline told her made
her feel even more upset.
“If I can’t keep this child, I’ll never forgive myself!” She thought.
“It’s just signs. You need to go to bed rest now. Don’t get out of bed for the next few days unless you need to use the bathroom.
I’ll prescribe medicine for you,” the doctor reassured.
“O-Okay, I’ll stay in bed,” Lillian hurriedly answered. “Can I keep the child?”
“It shouldn’t be a big problem, but it’s best for pregnant women to not cry so much because it may hurt their bodies and the child
they carry,” the doctor advised.
Hearing this, Lillian quickly tried her best to contain her tears.
She would do anything, as long as it was for the sake of her child.
Stephen and Abigail hurried over after knowing his daughter had been saved and learned about her whereabouts from the
police. They finally breathed a sigh of relief when they saw their daughter and her unborn child safe.
“Mom, I’m fine, but Rosalie got held hostage by Madeline because of me, and she hurt her neck. She also almost fell to her
death. I still don’t know how she is right now.” Thinking of Rosalie, who was willing to do anything for her, Lillian felt guilty for
putting her in such danger.
“With Jonathan caring for her, he’ll definitely get the best doctors to treat her,” Abigail comforted Lillian. “In any case, we truly
need to thank Rosalie. If it weren’t for her, you would’ve...”
Abigail could hardly imagine it. They had gotten some info from the police about the situation before and knew how dangerous it
was then.

They could not be more grateful that Lillian came out alive.
“That Madeline truly is a malicious person. Back then, she made Callum have a change of heart and broke up with you. Now,
you already have nothing to do with Callum, but she still refused to let you go! The police said she was dead. Good riddance!”
Stephen growled.
“Dad, Callum... He had never had a change of heart. He has never wronged me.” Lillian choked. Her face would have been full
of tears had she not remembered that crying would be bad for the child.
“What nonsense are you talking about? He’s never had a change of heart? If he didn’t, why would you be lying here in the
hospital, pregnant and alone, while he’s living a carefree life in the city?” Stephen said grumpily.
