Corinne shook her head. "I don't know you, so how can I hate you? Mister Maxwell, I don't have any memory of you at all, so no, I don't hate you. But I don't like you, and I don't want to have anything to do with you."

Corinne did not want to but decided to stay regardless, seeing as she was already there with him. After all, she did promise Sunny she would help him. Thus, she turned and said, "If I stay with you for a while longer, do you promise to eat well, take your medicine, and not take your life again?"
Maxwell nodded.
Only then did Corinne walk over and stand beside his hospital bed.
"Okay, I'll stay here with you for a while. Why don't you have some porridge while I'm here?"
Touched by her concern, Maxwell smiled happily at her. He picked up the bowl of chicken soup on the bedside and started drinking it.
Corinne simply watched him drink the soup silently.
At that moment, Sunny's sheepish voice came from outside the ward.
"Lucas! Why... Why are you here? Didn't you say you're going back home to make sure Grandpa and Grandma are alright?"
Lucas detected the guilt and panic in Sunny's voice, causing him to frown.
"Grandpa and Grandma are alright. Why are you standing at the door? How's he doing?"
Sunny stood in front of the door to stop Lucas from going in.
