Emily realized Corinne and Jeremy must have had something to do with Adam being taken away.

Emily's eyes reddened with sadness and guilt.

Emily felt that she was trapped in this complicated relationship. She was lost and did not know how or who to help.

Melinda, not able to see how Emily blamed herself so relentlessly, hugged and patted her back. "You know me, Emily. And I know what kind of person you are, as well as your daughter and her husband. If now is the time for Adam and Sophia to get what they deserve, so be it. We must all pay for what we've done, don't we?
