"Lucas, are you implying... that I deliberately pushed Miss Thalia down?"
Lucas frowned quickly but then relaxed the next second.
"I didn't mean that, but you should know what happened here. You claim not to know and even avoid my gaze, so how can I trust what you're saying?"
Lucas felt like he knew Melody well; she would not act so evasive if she were innocent.
"Huh! Just because of that, you think I've pushed Miss Thalia? Have you ever considered that she might have fallen by herself? Don't forget, I'm still using crutches!"
Melody's hands were trembling slightly. Although she had become quite adept at walking with crutches, her muscles would still feel sore after a while. In fact, she was starting to feel unable to hold on any longer.
However, Lucas' attention was all on Thalia, who was still lying unconscious on the ground. Thus, he was completely oblivious to the fact that Melody was about to fall.
Melody chuckled at herself, knowing that she would never be a priority to Lucas whenever Thalia was around. She had known it for a long time, but why did it still hurt?
Lucas had not even bothered to understand the situation fully, yet he had already concluded that she was the one who had hurt Thalia. It did not matter what the truth was because he had already decided on the conclusion in his mind.
At that moment, Sherman suddenly grabbed Melody's arm from behind to steady her.
"Melody, are you okay?"
Melody turned to Sherman with gratitude. "Thanks for your concern, Sherman. I'm fine."
Sherman looked worried. He could see through Melody's forced smile. After all, how could he not?
However, he still had no idea what happened in the restroom moments before, and it was inappropriate to stay there. There were already many customers gathering to watch the commotion. "Lucas, the doctor is almost here. It's better to hand Thalia over to the doctor. It wouldn't be good for any of us to speculate on what happened with so many people watching," said Sherman. Lucas glanced at Sherman's hand on Melody's arm, then quickly looked away.
He did not say a word, but he did stand up, walk over to the manager, and whisper a few words to him. The manager nodded and swiftly went to do his bidding.
Once the surrounding crowd had been dispersed and the ambulance had arrived, Thalia was quickly bandaged by the paramedics before being transferred into the ambulance. "Who's riding with us?"
Lucas followed the doctor into the ambulance. Before closing the door, he hesitated and glanced toward Sherman.
Sherman nodded, assuring him that he would safely escort Melody back to the set.
"Let's go. They've already gone to the hospital. Shall I take you back to the set?"
Sherman continued supporting Melody. He could feel she was starting to struggle, but if he suggested carrying her back, she would surely refuse.
Melody smiled faintly, unsure of what to say. Once they were both inside the car, she kept gazing out of the window.
