Melody sighed internally. She did not know whether telling Beatrice about the photo was the right thing to do.
Beatrice soon messaged Melody, telling her not to worry and that she had safely arrived home.
[Alright, get some rest. Goodnight,] Melody replied.
Cedric, noticing Beatrice's hurried return from Melody's place, found it strange. After all, she had mentioned staying at Melody's for the night when she left. "What are you doing back? It's so late! Couldn't you have stayed at Melody's? You should've convinced her to come back if her place is so horrible to live in." Beatrice waved her hand dismissively. "Melody's place is fine. I came back for other reasons."
Her angry demeanor worried Cedric. "Did something else happen?"
Beatrice let out a disdainful snort. "Hmph, it seems we're getting more and more lenient as we age. I can't believe we allowed Thalia to stir up trouble in our home!"
"What do you mean by that? Hasn't she been behaving herself lately?" Cedric poured a glass of tea for Beatrice and placed it in front of her, advising her to let it cool before drinking.
"That night, I caught her sneaking around in the kitchen and the study. Do you know what she did? She took intimate photos with Lucas behind our backs and then pretended to accidentally send them to Melody!"
Cedric was taken aback. He never imagined that Thalia would have the audacity to do such a thing right under their noses.
"Goodness, how wicked can she be!" Cedric exclaimed.
"Ha, you know what's even more annoying? I make one comment about her, and Lucas gets all defensive. Yes, her father did save him back then, but he should also see whether his daughter truly deserves such kindness! Melody is a good child. Despite the injustice she suffered, she didn't cause a scene with Lucas. She just kept it all inside. Ah, my heart aches for girls like her. I wonder how long she has been enduring all this. Who knows how long she would have hid it if I hadn't gone over and kept asking her what happened today?" Beatrice lamented.
Cedric also sighed. "Melody has always been sensitive. She must be really hurt by all this. Good thing you found out about all this, but something's not quite right. Why would Lucas agree to take those photos with Thalia?"
"That's the crux of the matter! When I went to check on Lucas that day, he was in a deep sleep. I've never seen him like that before. I suspect Thalia drugged him," Beatrice revealed.
Cedric expressed deep concern. "That woman will go to any lengths to get what she wants, even resorting to drugging Lucas! Thankfully, Lucas seems to be fine now, and there don't seem to be any lasting effects on his health."
Beatrice nodded in agreement. "Otherwise, I would have definitely confronted that woman by now. I need to investigate what exactly happened that day. It's essential to find out what kind of drug she gave Lucas."

Beatrice gave a wry smile. "I have some matters to discuss and wanted to ask everyone's opinion. Once we've sorted things out, we'll let you all go back to bed, so I'd appreciate your cooperation for the time being." Visit bignovels.com to read the latest chapter of this novel
