The Day I Kissed An Older Man

Melody paused. She turned back and asked, "What? What do you want to say?"
"S... Sor..."
Even though Helen could not finish her sentence, Melody could guess what she was trying to say. She just smiled faintly. At that moment, she suddenly found herself able to move on. Whether Helen felt sorry for her mistake no longer mattered.
After all, the years of hurt and pain Melody had to endure over the years could not be simply offset by a simple apology.
"It doesn't matter anymore. It's been so many years. But don't think for a moment that your simple apology holds much weight. I just want to let you know that my life is good now. That's because I've distanced myself from all of you. As for what lies ahead for you, I'll take care of it. After all, you did give me life. As for anything else... Well."
Melody did not think she was being cruel at all. She was just speaking the truth. It was precisely because she had found peace that the past no longer cast its shadow over her heart, allowing her to speak so calmly to Helen. Whatever Helen might think, it no longer concerned Melody.
Melody breathed a sigh of relief as she opened the door, smiling again only when she saw Lucas. From then on, her happiness would only be connected to the man before her, and the pain of the past would no longer haunt her like a ghost.
Seeing Melody's relaxed expression, Lucas stood up and went to greet her.
"How did it go?"
"Quite well. She can't say anything nasty to me now. Even speaking seems difficult for her. But I can't help feeling that the Sanders are a bit heartless. They didn't even arrange for a proper caregiver, and they chose this hospital." She sighed. "I wonder if she regrets anything now..."
This was the last time Melody would feel sorry for Helen. She did not harbor as much resentment toward Ethan, partly because she had long been disappointed in him. Her father never treated her fairly. In fact he seemed to despise her very existence.
Melody had known since she was young that her father did not like her. However, back then, she had reassured herself that it did not matter if he did not like her, as she did not particularly like Ethan either. Melody and Lucas walked along the corridor hand in hand, and Melody was still discussing their plans along the way. Unfortunately, before they even made it downstairs, they encountered Wendy, who had been waiting there for some time.
"Melody?"
Melody turned her gaze toward the voice, only to find Wendy unrecognizable.
"How did you end up like this?"

a move to depart, holding onto Lucas' COM
