Justin had not let go of his grudge against Shannon, nor had he overlooked the pain that his mother had gone through. It was
just that clinging to hate too intensely only brought more suffering to himself and made other people around him unhappy as well.
Bella nodded along with Justin and said, "Ryan, I understand that you and Justin are like brothers, but now that you have Carrie,
your priority should be your family. Can you consider putting her needs first next time? Stop stressing about my man all the time."
Justin and Ryan were speechless.
"Don't worry about Carrie wanting to visit Shannon as a betrayal. Her intention to visit Shannon and bid farewell just shows that
she is kind and humane. If Carrie was as bitter as Bethany and did that out of nowhere, then that's when you should be
concerned."
Considering Carrie's unstable condition, Bella decided not to return home tonight. Even if it meant staying up all night, she was
determined to stay and take care of Carrie.
With Bella staying put, Justin naturally decided to stay by her side as well.
He knew that Bella had high standards for sleep, so he called lan and asked him to bring over her pajamas, skincare products,
and aromatherapy. Even if it was just for one night, he would personally arrange the bedroom to ensure she could rest
peacefully.
As night fell, Bella went to Yasmin to inquire about Carrie's condition. Meanwhile, Justin called Ryan to the dining room. In an
attempt to ease Ryan's mood, Justin even opened a bottle of red wine.
However, Ryan, who usually prided himself on being a connoisseur of wine, had a dark expression and showed no interest in
drinking.
"Ryan, I've been thinking. When Carrie wakes up, why don't we let her stay with Bella for a few days?" Justin looked at him
earnestly.
Ryan was taken aback, slamming his hand on the table. "Justin! What have I done to you? How dare you try to take Carrie away
from me?!"
Justin's brows furrowed slightly. "It's not about taking her away. It's just that Carrie's condition is unstable. It might help her to
stay with Bella for a few days to ease her mind."
Ryan snapped. "Are you all so uneasy with me being with her? Am I not worthy of your trust?!"
Justin paused, his lips parting lightly. "To be honest, if we take today's events as an example, you indeed haven't made us feel at
ease."
"Damn it!" Ryan's eyes burned with anger, almost wishing to smash the bottle of wine.
"You've never been known for being emotionally steady. While you are with Carrie, you've been trying to change, and control
yourself. But let's face it, your personality is just part of who you are. You're almost thirty. Can someone really change that
quickly?"
Justin looked down, his lashes like feathers casting a shadow on his face as he spoke words that Ryan found nearly impossible
to believe "Ryan, understand your feelings for Carrie. But if this relationship is causing you pain and difficulty, maybe it's time to
rethink things. It's never too late."
Ryan's temple throbbed visibly. "Justin... What are you saying?"
"But if, once the passion fades, you reach a point where you can't deal with it anymore and want to take step back or neglect
Carrie, both Bella and I won't go easy on you. I would tear down the Hoffman family for my one and only sister."
