Bella complained about the discomfort, yet she comfortably nestled against Justin's chest. "Oh, this couple is really worrying me
to death."
"Carrie just had a little quarrel with Ryan. Is it appropriate to leave them alone now?" Justin asked in a low voice.
Bella explained, "Carrie still loves Ryan. I'm sure of it. After this incident, Ryan must have realized his mistake. Let's just give him
a chance to talk things out with Carrie. The person who caused this should be the one to fix it."
Justin nodded thoughtfully, smoothing the strands of hair that fell beside her cheek with his fingertips. "Hmm, alright."
"Yasmin just told me that Logan plans to hold a shareholders' meeting for the company this month. He'll officially make Ryan the
president of the Hoffman Group and add him to the board of directors. After that Ryan will go straight to the Salvador family to
propose for a marriage."
Justin's eyes flickered, but he remained silent.
"What's wrong? You don't look too happy. Are you not satisfied with this relationship?" Bella reached out and softly touched his
cheek.
"Don't be fooled by my temper with him. I genuinely care about them. I truly want them to be happy. I'm just afraid that Ryan can't
take good care of Carrie, so I wanted to give him a little warning. They're in love! How could I not want the best for them? If their
relationship works out in the end, then Carrie will have her own family someday."
"I'm not dissatisfied. As Ryan's best friend, I just feel like I can't help much with his marriage," Justin said helplessly, a tinge of
guilt showing on his face.
"He'll have to meet Gregory for the proposal, and I can't say anything positive in front of that man now. Also, because of my
situation last time, Ryan stood up for me, which made Gregory very upset. My narrow-minded father has always held grudges,
and if he gets the chance, he'll definitely try to take it out on Ryan."
"So, you think Gregory is going to create problems for Ryan's proposal?" Bella blinked her bright, almond-shaped eyes.
"I'm certain of it." Justin sneered. "I hold no hope for Gregory's character."
"I've thought about it, and I still believe we should settle their matter as soon as possible."
Being a very careful person who was truly concerned about Carrie's future, Bella gave the situation even more thought "You
know Gregory is not likely to agree to this marriage.
After all, Ryan embarrassed him at the Reeds' banquet in front of many important people from Savrow if he still agrees to let his
daughter marry Ryan, he'll feel like a joke in all of Savrow. Others will just see him as controlled by the Hoffman family. How
could Chairman Salvador, who always cares so much about his reputation, put up with this? While Grandpa is healthy and can
make decisions now, we should get him involved in making this union happen."
Justin's eyes lit up with excitement as he put his hands on her waist. "Bella, you're amazing. I can't believe I didn't think of this
before! Grandpa really adores Ryan and thinks of him as family. With Grandpa stepping in, even if Gregory tries to stir up
trouble, it won't work!"
When Ryan entered the room, Carrie was leaning weakly against the headboard, her once bright doe now dull and lifeless, her
gaze listless and vacant.
A wave of piercing pain washed over Ryan, making even breathing difficult.
Yasmin stood by with a bowl of porridge, intending to feed Carrie, but no matter how she coaxed and persuaded, Carrie refused
to open her mouth.
"Carrie..."
Upon hearing Ryan's hoarse voice, Carrie immediately shut her eyes and clutched her head, trembling uncontrollably with fear.
Ryan stood next to the bed, feeling like a heavy weight had landed on his chest. Regret and sadness filled his eyes, ready to
overflow with tears.
