The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

"My mind is made up, Mom. You can't convince me otherwise."
Clarence's gaze then fell on Neil's haggard face.
The man who raised him suddenly felt so distant. "I've never asked you for anything, Dad, but today, I hope you can do me one
favor. I hope that you will stop making things difficult for Ms. Amelia. Don't make Steven break up with Ms. Amelia. They love
each other. I firmly believe Steve will not meet a better girl than Ms. Amelia."
Steven and Amelia stood before Neil, their fingers interlocking. The look in their eyes held affection for each other.
Chelsea could not stop bawling her eyes out after what Clarence said.
Overwhelmed with emotions, Neil asked hoarsely, "Are you threatening me with resignation, Clarence?"
"If that's what you think, so be it." Clarence grinned helplessly.
Then came a commotion outside the ward, and a knocking ensued.
Closest to the entrance, Steven went to open the door.
Outside stood two men in uniform. Steven lowered his gaze and read their badges, recognizing they were prosecutors.
"Is Hunter Lovett in there?"
Hunter shuddered at the sound of a stern voice.
Steven turned to the side and gave way to the prosecutors.
The inspectors entered the ward grimly. Noticing Neil, the pair were surprised but nodded at him courteously.
Neil's honorable reputation as a judge was known to the legal crowd. The younger colleagues saw him as an inspiration. "Please
come with us, Mr. Hunter Lovett." The inspectors addressed Hunter formally in the presence of Neil.
The inspectors kept it short, not dwelling on the matter to avoid any complications.
Weak in the knees, Hunter, his lips quivering, could barely walk.
In the end, the two inspectors dragged him out of the ward.

Chelsea covered her face and wailed while Neil furrowed his brows, unable to reel in from the devastating blow. There was no
need to get Hunter's side of the story.
Clarence was most righteous ,never lying to his parents. Besides, the inspectors would not make an arrest without sufficient
evidence.
With as most righteous, never
At that point, Steven had given up his family. He wrapped his arm Amelia's waist and walked out of the ward.
"Where are you going, Steve? Come back!"
Chelsea reached her hand out to Steven, her eyes swollen from crying. "Don't you want us or this family?"
Steven stopped in his tracks.
Chelsea was delighted, but Steven's harsh words quickly crushed her and Neil.
"Consider me dead to you."
Steven and Amelia walked toward the hospital parking lot.
Though Steven said nothing during the walk,Amelia felt the tension in his jawline and his grip around her waist.
