The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Bella understood what Carrie meant and coughed awkwardly. But she was not particularly embarrassed by this topic.
Instead, she advised earnestly, "Carrie, are you ready to become a mother now?"
"Mother...?" Carrie was stunned, feeling that the concept was distant and unfamiliar.
To be honest, she was not ready yet.
She even felt like she had not fully grown up yet, and she had a mental illness, not knowing whether it would affect her child.
However, Ryan really wanted a kid with her.
Every time they slept together and were deeply intimate, he would whisper in her ear over and over, "Give me a child... Carrie,
give me a few more... Boy or girl, as long as they're yours, I will love them..." Carrie's expression looked troubled.
"I... I haven't thought of it yet. Annie, do you want to have a child with Justin?"
Her words were like a sharp needle, piercing Bella's heart and spreading a fine pain throughout her heart.
"I love your brother deeply, regardless of the past or present."
Bella's eyes silently moistened, her voice tight and hoarse as she suppressed a hint of painful regret. "But a child is not a
necessity. I'm content just being able to grow old with him."
It was her true feelings, and her body did not allow her to have children, but it unexpectedly struck a chord with Carrie.
"Actually... I don't want to have children either."
Carrie's head hung low, nervously playing with her fingers, rarely expressing her true feelings. "I'm scared of my child inheriting
my illness..,I'm scared people would mock my child... I want to learn how to paint. If I had children, I wouldn't be able to focus on
painting. When my mother used to be with Bethany and me, she had so many maids to help take care of us, but she was still so
busy every day. I'm afraid..."

"Then you should tell Ryan about your thoughts." Bella frowned.
Carrie quickly shook her head. "But Ryan wants children. He likes them so much, and I don't want to let him down..."
Bella felt more heartbroken the more she listened. How many things did this quiet girl keep bottled up inside with no one to
confide in?
After all, Yasmin worked for Ryan. No matter how much Carrie liked her, there were things she could not tell Yasmin.
But on the matter of having a child, Bella could not intervene. This was something between the couple. Overstepping would be
inappropriate.
She thought of the day she and
Justin came to visit Carrie but were turned away by Ryan. His bloodshot, gloomy eyes indicated that he had not slept for days.
Justin was always simple-minded and trusting of the people close to him, so he did not sense anything wrong.
But Bella was keen and kept a clear mind, letting no details escape her eye.
"Has Ryan been in a bad mood recently? I can see you're very cautious around him."
Bella lowered her voice. "Did something happen after you were saved that day?"
She hit the nail on the head. Carrie pursed her lips, murmuring hesitantly, "That day, in the hospital. Ryan got into a fight with
Ralph. Ryan doesn't seem to like Ralph much. He gets unhappy when I mention him. Annie, Ralph is a good person, but so is
Ryan. I don't want them to fight. I want them to become friends."

Bella could not help being shocked. A shadow loomed over her beautiful face.
