"Ryan, Uncle Liam."
Zoe stopped in front of them, putting on a sweet smile.
What a poser.
"Oh, Zoe! How are you recovering?" Liam asked, pretending to be concerned.
"I'm feeling much better. Thanks for asking."
"That's good to hear. You're the precious treasure of the Hoffman family. If anything happened to you, your grandfather and
mother would be devastated!" Liam's words were aimed at Ryan.
Then he cast a meaningful glance at Zoe and left, humming a little tune.
"What are you doing here?" Ryan stared at her with a dark and cold gaze.
"I made soup, and I'm bringing it to Grandpa while it's still warm." Zoe blinked innocently. "Ryan, you won't deny me the chance
to be a good granddaughter, will you?"
Ryan's deep, cold eyes narrowed. He raised his hand slowly and pointed at her face menacingly.
Although he did not say a word, Zoe's heart still pounded wildly out of fear, and her hands, holding the tray, slightly trembled.
"Zoe, I'm warning you. Don't play any tricks. Otherwise, I'll rip out your deceitful tongue and break your legs. If you don't believe
me, just try me."
As his words fell, Ryan shoved past her and strode away.
Zoe glared at Ryan's seemingly unshakable figure fiercely, gritting her teeth in anger.
"Ha, we'll see!"
Then, her vicious expression disappeared, replaced with a gentle and obedient smile as she walked into the study.
"Grandpa, I'm here to see you!"
Seeing his granddaughter, Logan smiled dotingly. "Zoe, you're here."
"Grandpa, I especially made this nutritious soup for you. It took me the whole day!"
Zoe placed the tray on the tea table, picked up the bowl of soup, and passed it to Logan. "This soup is best consumed when in a
bad mood. It's nourishing and calming. Grandpa, have a taste!"
"Zoe, how do you know I'm in a bad mood?" Logan took a sip of the soup, and sure enough, his chest felt less suffocated.
"Ryan just came to see you, and I saw your grim face as soon as I walked in. There was an invitation on the table. It must be for
Ryan and Ms. Carrie's wedding, right?
Zoe said with a half smile, "It seems we'll have a celebration soon?"
"Celebration? What kind of celebration is this?"
Logan put down the bowl heavily, his nostrils flaring. "I only have one grandson, but that girl from the Salvador family has him
dancing in her palms! He's utterly obsessed! They're only getting engaged, but Ryan gave her almost half his assets. She
represents the Salvador family. Doesn't he ever think of the consequences?! When they get married, the Hoffman Group will
probably be under the Salvador family's control in a few years!"
"Grandpa, I knew you were troubled by this matter."
Zoe sighed helplessly. "Actually, there's something I haven't told you. I'm afraid you'd feel more upset if you knew about it."
"We've come to this point. What else couldn't I handle? Just tell me!"
Zoe smiled coldly in her heart and walked over to the tea table, taking out a document hidden under the tray. "Grandpa, look at
this."
Logan took it in confusion, flipping through the pages.
Suddenly, his eyes widened in rage, staring at the diagnosis report in disbelief. Carrie's name was clearly written on it.
