Coral was choked for words in gratitude. "You gave me a second chance in life."
"Don't say that, Ms. Jones." Justin curled his lips and replied tenderly, "It was all you. You saved yourself."
Bella said, "Oh, right. What were you saying earlier, Ms. Jones?"
"James will never make it out of prison alive."
Coral handed over a USB drive, her eyes bloodshot. "I took a recording of James' phone conversation with an individual. He was
with a woman on a cruise last week. Just for the kick of it, he injected the woman with substances, and she died of an overdose.
"He hired someone-the guy on the phone-to take care of the woman's body. While James was asleep, I checked his phone for
the individual's number. I don't think the guy knows I'm onto him, so if the police get the case right, we should be able to seize
James' accomplice."
Bella and Justin were taken aback.
James deserved to die for his crimes. However, the news of another victim only deepened Bella and Justin's pain.
"Also, my brother is at the police station, ready to confess his part in aiding James to cook the books and embezzle funds. That's
all we can do, Ms. Thompson and Mr. Salvador. We will be cheering you on," Coral said in a soft voice, her tone carrying guilt.
Unable to hold her emotions back anymore, Bella burst into tears and hugged Coral tight. Tears quickly soaked Coral's
shoulders.
Amid the media's flashing light, a grimacing James was escorted into the police car.
Before taking off, Ralph noticed Carrie, who was in Ryan's arms, not too far away.
Even in a crowd, Ralph could spot the adorable face anywhere. Her face was etched in his mind.
'Carrie is doing great. It's a good thing that she was always met with love and protection.' With that in mind, Ralph shifted his
fervent gaze away.
It was as if he was afraid his eyes would reveal his secret.
It was a sleepless night for the Iversons.
Even though his obstacles were gone, Christopher did not get the thrill of revenge.
For some reason, Christopher could never get what he wanted.
He wanted Bella, but they could only be enemies.
Christopher wanted James to kneel before his mother to apologize, but that hope went into flames.
Bella and Justin were getting into the car to leave after getting their revenge when Christopher darted over to stop them.
"Bella, I need to have a word with you alone." Christoper stared intently at her while catching his breath.
His meticulous hair was messy for once.
With his internal alarm bells ringing, Justin tightened his grip around Bella's waist, and his eyes reflected worry.
Bella gave Justin assurance and refused Christopher.
"I have nothing to say to you. If you really want to say anything, we can talk here."
"Why couldn't it be today?"
"Why did it have to be today?" Christopher restrained his emotions until his veins popped out of his head.
Bella was gorgeous, even when mocking him. "Why? Do I need to give you a rain check before I stir things up?"
