The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 1043

Chapter 1043
Ellinor looked calm, not angry. She was just a bit downcast as she asked, “Did he mention when he’d be back from the business
trip?” Belinda shook her head. “Theo didn’t say specifically. He just asked me to stay with you until he comes back, to prevent
Veronica from getting on your nerves.”
Ellinor responded with a faint “Oh.”
At that moment, Veronica’s slightly irked voice rang out, “Who would annoy her? I’ve already accepted her wholeheartedly.”
After hearing Veronica’s voice, Ellinor and Belinda turned their heads towards the door.
There stood Veronica, with her hands on her hips, looking quite miffed as she walked in, “My brother is so overprotective. He
treats me like a villain; he even brought a stranger here!”
Belinda glanced at her and said, “Maybe you should reflect on your past behavior so you can understand why Theo feels like he
needs to guard against you more than villains?”
Stung by Belinda’s words, Veronica recalled her past actions towards Ellinor and fell silent.
Ellinor noticed the tension between the two and decided to break it up, “Is there anything to eat? I’m hungry.”
Belinda and Veronica both replied in unison, “Yes!”
After speaking simultaneously, they glared at each other. Then Belinda said, “Ellinor, my mom made some soup and nutritious
dishes for you this morning. I brought them! Let me get them for you.”
After saying this, Belinda went to fetch the containers.
Taking advantage of this, Veronica came forward with a container her grandma had sent, “Ellinor, this is the breakfast that my
grandma asked me to bring for you! You eat this! Don’t eat food from strangers!”
Ellinor fell silent.
Belinda came back and pushed Veronica aside with her body, “Who are you calling a stranger? I’m the one Theo assigned to
look after Ellinor! Theo even specifically told me that unless necessary, you’re not allowed near Ellinor! Veronica, you better
know your place; don’t make me report this to Theo!”

Veronica put down the container and said discontentedly, “Belinda, you’re not a Blanchet, right? What’s wrong with calling you a
stranger? Even if my brother said I couldn’t get close to Ellinor, what’s the big deal? I’m here on behalf of my grandma to visit
Ellinor and bring her breakfast! Who are you to stop Ellinor from eating the breakfast that my grandma had prepared?”
Belinda sneered, “Because the Blanchet family gave me full authority to take care of Ellinor! You can leave the breakfast Marissa
had you bring, but you should leave; don’t bother me and Ellinor here!”
Veronica sneered back, “Belinda, not to mention anything else, according to seniority, I’m your aunt! Is this how you talk to elders
in the Wesley family?”
Belinda gritted her teeth, “You…”
Now that Belinda was speechless, Veronica felt victorious, and she tilted her chin up at her, “Come on! Call me ‘aunt,‘ let me
hear it.”
Belinda glared at Veronica as her face turned red in anger. She was absolutely fuming!
She really couldn’t accept that she was of a lower generation than Veronica. Ah, it was so infuriating!
Ellinor was about to mediate when another male’s elegant voice rang out.
“Ms. Blanchet is quite eloquent. You’re so young, and yet you make others call you ‘aunt.‘ Aren’t you afraid that would make you
appear old?” Belinda was taken aback by the man’s voice. She turned her head to look, and her heart skipped a beat.
Veronica frowned. She looked towards the intruder, only to see a very handsome man walking in with a flirtatious smile on his
face.
