Chapter 3535
Jeff didn’t hold back from looking at Clare. He flashed her a faint smile.
“If you don’t mind, why don’t you join me in my place later?”
“Let’s have some fun drinking together.”
Langston pretended not to hear what his daughter was planning, and held his glass
After having a few sips, he then said with a smile, “I heard something happened on your end recently, Young Master Bauer.”
“Rumors have been spreading about an ignorant outsider demanding money from you!”
“I heard he even shot one of your bulls!”
“How could this happen in a place like Flutwell? Does the law not matter to him?”
“If you don’t mind, I’ll deal with that man for you.”
“I’ll teach him to respect his elders!”
“I’ll do everything it takes to help you!”
There were many people like Langston within the Osborne family.
Collateral relatives like him were destined to be doomed for the rest of their lives.
Thus, he desperately found a way to attend the charity event.
Even if it meant selling out his own daughter and becoming someone else’s lackey, he would do anything in his power to cling to
a powerful man like Jeff.
If Jeff managed to rise to power and Langston’s daughter became his woman...
He believed his status within the family would rise exponentially. Maybe he would have control over the family as well.
He put on a serious look, as if he was someone wise, just for a chance to perform in front of Jeff.
Jeff flashed him a profound look, and then smiled.
“There was a man who crossed me and killed one of my bulls...”
“But I can handle it. Don’t worry.”
“I know what you’re hinting at.”
“You’ll have a lot of opportunities to work for me soon enough.”
For Jeff, Langston’s status and identity weren’t much to boast about.
But since Langstone was still from the Osborne family, it would be quite significant for Jeff if the former stood by his side.
As such, Jeff didn’t decline Langston’s goodwill.
Langston chuckled upon hearing Jeff’s words.
“I spoke too much. I’ll surely fight for you if there’s an opportunity!”
“Right. If you need it, I’ll definitely recommend you to Prince Osborne.”
Jeff smiled, but said nothing.
People in their class would naturally know each other at this point. What mattered was how close they actually were.
For Jeff, this was only just the beginning.
Vincent sent him a text, saying that he was going to stop Harvey from causing trouble at the charity event.
Jeff was exhilarated; he wanted to see how everyone would react when Harvey’s body was thrown into Charity Garden like a
dead dog.
He wanted to see the look on Elanor’s face after she talked so highly about that man.
He wanted Joseph to feel grateful toward him after trampling on the man who had caused Joseph a great deal of trouble.
Right at that moment, the sound of an engine roaring could be heard from outside.
There was a loud bang, and something rammed through the gate.
