Renee had indeed sprained her waist, and was quickly rushed to the orthopedics department, which happened to be on the
same floor where Stefan was warded.
After ages of wandering around, Stefan was right back where he started.
At that moment, a lot of Renee's relatives and friends had gathered in the ward, including Leia and Justin. All of them rushed
there when they heard the news.
Hence, Stefan could not get close to Renee. He wasn't thick-skinned enough to approach her under such circumstances.
When a nurse came out of the ward, Stefan gave Elijah a meaningful look, and Elijah immediately understood.
Elijah went up to the nurse and pulled her to a corner. "Miss, I would like to ask you something. How is the patient in that ward?"
The nurse looked at them cautiously. "Who are you two? Are you her family? If you're not, I can't tell you anything because our
patients' information is strictly confidential."
'Yes, we're her family. Mr. Hunt here is the patient's husband," Elijah said confidently.
’Husband?" The nurse scrutinized Stefan in disbelief. "Why didn't you go in if you were her husband? You're hiding here in the
dark like a creep."
"Why are you so stubborn? Just answer our question. You..."
Stefan massaged his temples and sighed exasperatedly, then pulled Elijah aside before he got into a fight with the nurse. After
that, he said to the nurse seriously, "Yes, I'm her husband but we got into a fight and I was too cowardly to go see her. But I'm
very worried about her, so... Can you tell me how she is?"
"Umm... sure." The nurse gave in because of Stefan's handsome face. "The patient is out of danger now, but her waist is
seriously hurt. She needs to rest for two to four weeks, and she'll be fine if she recovers well. If not..."
"If not?" Stefan asked urgently.
'She may end up paralyzed for the rest of her life," the nurse said hesitantly, and upon seeing Stefan's terrifying expression,
quickly fled.

'Paralyzed forever? That's horrible!" Elijah exclaimed in horror after the initial shock wore off. He looked at Stefan and said
carefully, ' Don't worry, Mr. Hunt. The medical staff always exaggerate and try to create worst case scenarios. Miss Everheart is
strong and healthy, so I'm sure she'll recover soon."
Stefan was frozen to the spot for a long time, and after a while, he swallowed and said calmly, "Let's go."
'Where are you going now?’ Elijah glanced at Renee's crowded ward. "I don't think we should go in since it's so crowded."

'Where is he? How can he go missing?" When Francine arrived at the ward and found that Stefan was missing, she condemned
