The Untouchable Ex Wife by Mizuki Sei

Chapter 216
However, Renee was much faster. She lifted her hand and forcefully hit the man’s chest. The man doubled over in pain and
stumbled back, and Renee managed to free herself.
Everyone couldn’t believe what they’d just seen.
“How dare you? This is your fault, girl! Now, you’ll all die!” The man screamed and yanked the bomb’s safety string.
Everybody screamed in fear.
“Watch out!”
Renee was pulled aside, and was soon buried in a warm chest. Confused, she looked up and found herself in Stefan’s strong
arms. It was strangely comforting, like an impenetrable wall against the dangers outside. It felt like they were in an apocalypse
drama. The two of
them had never been so close to each other before!
However, the explosion they expected never happened.
A white puff of smoke appeared, signaling that the bomb had failed to explode.
“W–What’s going on? Why didn’t it explode?” The man looked at the bomb strapped to his waist in confusion. The people around
him
looked at each other, equally perplexed.
Renee calmly pulled away from Stefan and looked at the man with a victorious smile on her face. “Your bomb was well–
designed, but the
safety string wasn’t firm enough. When you caught me earlier, I only needed to gently touch it to remove it. The gunpowder
already
leaked through the gap, so of course it didn’t explode!”
“H–How do you know how to defuse a bomb?” The man asked in disbelief.

“I know enough for me to deal with simple toys like yours,” Renee said with a smirk on her face. The bomb was clearly
homemade and of
the lowest quality; she could’ve defused it with her eyes closed.
“You really are impressive, young lady.” The man was quickly subdued, but he sincerely admitted his defeat.
The people around them were also full of praise for Renee. Nobody expected a girl who seemed so vulnerable to actually know
how to
defuse a bomb!
Renee lifted her chin in Stefan’s direction, a cheeky smile on her face. “What do you think? I rescued you again!”
Stefan didn’t speak. He just turned around and left, a somewhat weary look on his face.
“Hey, you’re not very grateful, are you? How can you treat your savior like this?” Renee didn’t know what she’d done to offend
the man, and
was about to go after him and find out.
Suddenly, a woman charged through the crowd and hugged Jane. “Jane! Oh, my dear Jane!”
