Chapter 2643 Refused To Become The Center Of Gossip Again

Luca placed the magazine back and waited for Luke to come in.

The moment Luke stepped into his office, Luca looked up, and their eyes met.

"Mr. Crawford." Luca broke the silence.

Luke nodded and immediately closed the door behind him. "Give me a minute. I need to handle some documents first."

"Alright." What Luca was about to discuss with him was not that urgent either. Hence, she picked up the magazine beside her and read it while waiting for Luke to deal with the documents.

Luke quickly read through an urgent document. Eighteen minutes had passed when he finally signed it. He pressed the intercom number and said to Jason, "Come in."

Ten seconds later, Jason knocked on Luke's office door. Then, he pushed the door and came in. "Boss, I'm here."

"It's done." Luke handed the document he had signed a moment ago to Jason.

Jason quickly trotted toward him and took the document from Luke. Then, he turned around and left the office. He gently closed the door after he left.

Luca put down the magazine, walked toward Luke, and sat in front of him.

"What brings you here all of a sudden?" Luke had no idea Luca went to Tommy's school.

Luca was suddenly at a loss for words. She pondered for a moment and took the note Mrs. Huffey gave her out of her bag. Then, she handed it to him.

Luke saw a name and an address written on the note. He raised his brows and looked at Luca, waiting for her to say something.

"I went to Tommy's school this morning," said Luca. "He didn't cause any trouble. A child lied to his mother and slandered Tommy. After that, their classmates testified that Tommy did nothing wrong. But the child's mother was rude. She even told me that she would get Tommy out of school. I thought it'd be better for you to know about this."

Luke raised his brows. "Get Tommy out of the school?"

How arrogant! Who dared to do that?

Even the school's principal bowed and smiled when he welcomed Tommy to his school.

The child was smart, and he was not as naughty as the other rich boys. He had even won glory for the school.

Moreover, Luke had never stopped sponsoring the school. Even the principal did not dare to say something like that. How dare a child's mother say such things?

"I got it." Luke picked up his phone and took a photo.

These people were unworthy of Luke remembering their names. The note could go missing at any time. That was why Luke needed to keep a copy of it on his phone. He would ask Rain to check the background of such an arrogant and rude mother.

Luke had never liked to be high-profile. However, some people tended to get away with bullying his wife and children to the point that it was almost crossing the line.

"Besides that, I need Mr. Zac's help to issue a letter. I'd like to sue the child's mother for defamation. I've already recorded the conversation. I initially thought of asking her to apologize to Tommy, but she refused to do so. She even said something rude in front of Tommy. That's why I'd like to sue her." Luca was someone who would not get annoyed easily.

This time, it was her last straw.

"Send me the recording. I'll ask Mr. Zac to deal with it. Don't worry about the other matters. It'll be done," said Luke. Those who dared to bully his wife and children would eventually end up reaping what they had sown.

This included the child's mother and the person behind Luca who was manipulating her.

Luca nodded and sent the recording to Luke's email. Then, she said, " Tommy did it to protect a girl. He stood in front of her to protect her from harm. That child felt guilty and took a few steps backward. He tripped and fell. Then, he lied to Mrs. Huffey, telling her that it was Tommy who pushed him. That's what happened. But Tommy was only standing in front of the girl. He didn't do anything."

"I believe my son. He won't hurt anyone," replied Luke. He had taken the education of his children very seriously since they were young. He had taught his kids about equality.

The other families would scold their maids as they liked, but it was rare to see something like that in their family unless the maid messed things up.

It was the same for the kids. Even if they were annoyed, they were not allowed to hurt anyone, no matter who it was.

Hence, Luke would never believe that Tommy had hit someone else no matter the occasion.

"Yes. He'd never do something like that." Luca agreed with him.

Luke's thin lips curled up and smiled. "You believe him?"

"I do. Even though he's playful, he's not a child who only knows how to play. He's obedient and shows respect to others. He also knows how to control his temper," replied Luca.

When Tommy was one or two years old, Luca showered him with love and spoiled him a lot. She was alone at that time and Luke was not with her. That was why she thought of giving the child more love and affection. That way, the child could grow up with good mental health.

After Luke came back, Tommy's bad behavior slowly faded as Luke dissuaded him with the threat of punishment. Tommy became more sensible too.

The older the child got, the more sensible he became. As their parents, there were many things they did not have to worry about.

How could such a good boy push his classmate?

"He'll be happy to know that you believe him," Luke deliberately said.
Luca's expression slightly stiffened.

There was a hint of mockery in Luke's words.

Was there any mother who would not believe in their child? It was just that Luca's identity was not Tommy's mother now.

"Mr. Crawford, that's all I wanted to tell you. To be honest, I think the child's mother has affected Tommy. That's why I want to teach her a lesson," said Luca.

"I understand. I know how to deal with this," replied Luke. They just wanted an apology.

If the parent could not apologize to Tommy, then what came after that would not be as easy as an apology anymore.

Even though the Crawford family was wealthy, they would still ask for some compensation once the matter was brought to court.

"Besides, the child's mother was so disdainful. I'm worried that she'll do something to Tommy. That's why I need you to inform the school," added Luca.

"I'll ask Mrs. Huffey to discuss with the principal about switching the child to another class." Luke nodded.

They were just going to move the child to another class. He did not have to leave the school. It would not put the principal and Mrs. Huffey in a difficult position. At the same time, it would not hurt the child's heart.

Was it not because of poor parenting that caused the child to do such a thing?

Since the mother failed to teach her son, then Luke would teach the child's mother a lesson on behalf of Tommy. He would let her know how she should be educating her child.

"I should go back to my office," said Luca. She reckoned that the result of her experiment had come out.

She wondered if Rhett had sent the report to her office.

"It's almost lunchtime. Let's have lunch together, and you can go back to your office after," suggested Luke. He sent a message to Warren, telling him to come back to his office after lunch.

"Well..."

"There's a new restaurant near the office. Let's go try their dishes." Luke picked up his coat, walked toward Luca, and held her hand.

Luca gently withdrew her hand.

Luke turned to look at her. He seemed a little unhappy.

"Mr. Crawford, we're at the office," reminded Luca. It would create a sensation if they held each other's hands in front of everyone.

Luca refused to become the center of the gossip again.

"It's my office." Who would dare to go against him?

"Mr. Crawford, I think it'd be better for us to be careful. I don't want to become a topic of their conversation..." Luca looked down and
pleaded.
