Chapter: 521
Ariana crouched down to look at Theodore. “What’s wrong?”
Before she could even register his response, she suddenly felt the warmth of a windbreaker enveloping her. Theodore had taken
off his coat and put it on her.
The familiar scent of his clothes made her feel at ease.
Theodore gently ran his fingers through her hair and then traced the ring necklace hanging off her neck. “So you are finally
wearing it, huh?” he teased. ©
Ariana felt a sudden wave of embarrassment wash over her as her secret was uncovered. She quickly grabbed the necklace and
tucked it away inside her collar.
Theodore couldn’t help but chuckle at her reaction, his face breaking into a beautiful smile. “I thought you threw it away. Why
don’t you just wear it on your hand?”
“Our marriage hasn’t been made public yet,” Ariana muttered softly, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was glad that
Theodore was unaffected by Lyla’s farce and could still make jokes. She wanted to finish their date.
Theodore glanced in the direction that Lyla had left and said with a meaningful tone, “It may become public soon.”
Ariana suddenly remembered that she had forgotten to remind Lyla not to mention anything about this at work. Now she couldn’t
hide it anymore. Lyla was notorious for her loose tongue and always ended up getting involved in things that weren’t her
concern.
Feeling annoyed, Ariana glared at Theodore and scolded, “It’s all your fault. You didn’t remind me.”
Theodore calmly raised his eyebrows and replied, “I don’t care.”
Ariana was at a loss for words at that. But she quickly gathered her composure and said, “Let’s just make it public.” ©
This time, Theodore finally burst into laughter, a smug look crossing his face.
Meanwhile, Horace had already finished setting up the tables, chairs, and food for their date.
“I’ll help Horace. You take care of Alina,” Ariana said, pushing the little girl into Theodore’s arms.
Alina had stopped crying, but her toy had gotten dusty. She didn’t say a word, but gazed up at Theodore with her big eyes,
silently challenging him to play the wooden doll game with her.
Theodore moved first. From the beginning, the game was one-sided. He expressionlessly took out a tissue and handed it to her.
“Here, use this to wipe.”
Alina accepted the tissue and began to wipe the dust off her toy. As she worked, the toy made a sound, “Caw... Caw...”
Theodore rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache creeping up on him. He meant to ask Alina to wipe away the tears on her
cheeks. ©
Never mind. It was all good as long as she was happy.
Horace and Ariana swiftly set up the tent and grill together while Theodore watched from a distance. He didn’t offer to help, so he
was tasked with grilling for the group.
To Ariana’s surprise, the food turned out as good as takeout. She looked at Theodore with admiration. He was her man! He’s
handsome and excellent at everything he did. She was giddy with delight.
