Chapter 156
Natalie was genuinely bursting. After being hooked up to an IV drip, chugging down a bowl
of oatmeal, and guzzling water, her lower abdomen was uncomfortably taut.
Flushed with anger and embarrassment, she abruptly grabbed Brian’s hand.
Brian halted, lifting his gaze to meet hers.
“I need the bathroom,” she muttered, her face growing hotter by the second as she mustered the courage to speak up, “I’ll call
the nurse.”
“No need to trouble the nurse,” he replied after a pause.
Natalie’s mouth fell open, then she frowned and said, “I’m not joking around with you!”
“Do I look like I’m joking?” Brian retorted.
At her wit’s end and feeling like she might explode any second, Natalie clenched her teeth, wishing she could knock Brian out
with a single punch!
Footsteps approached from outside the door. Probably, the nurse was making rounds. Natalie’s eyes darted to the sliver of light
under the door that flickered. In desperation, she
called out, “Nurse!”

Brian listened as the nurse turned the doorknob outside. A half–smirk played on his lips as he released Natalie and stepped back
into the shadows. With his back to the door, he dressed
himself.
Supported by the nurse, Natalie made a shaky trek to the restroom, her back drenched in
sweat.
“Why didn’t you ring earlier?” The nurse’s tone carried a hint of reprimand.
Natalie wished she had. Returning to her bed after the bathroom break, she heaved a sigh of relief, noticing Brian was decently
dressed, tie and all, apparently ready to leave. She
breathed even easier.
Brian turned to catch her look of relief, seemingly pleased by his departure.
Their eyes met for a moment, and Brian’s expression darkened. “Reid will stay here with you,”
he said to Natalie in a low voice.
With that, he slipped on his coat, walked to the door, and instructed Reid sternly, “Don’t leave
her side.”
“Yes, sir.”

Though Natalie had been anticipating Brian’s departure, his decision to leave someone behind filled her with a silent fury, a
seething anger she found herself powerless to express or alter the situation. After a while, she couldn’t help but let out a long
sigh.

Chapter 156
“This is the transcript from this afternoon’s video conference.” The assistant handed the document to Davis.
Upon returning, Davis had heard about Brian’s unintentional behavior during the video call.
He watched the footage of the two people embracing, his expression slowly turning grim. The woman was almost certainly
Natalie.
Brian had always been known for his integrity, not touching Gracia in years and living with Madelyn only to help Robert look after
her, which Davis was well aware of.
After watching the footage, Davis asked his executive secretary heavily, “You said someone saw Brian at the Film Studio
carrying someone out earlier this morning, correct?”
The assistant immediately responded, “Yes. An actor named Arlen from the same cast posted a tweet with some rather
emotional words, mostly saying he thought this actress was pure and untainted, only to find out she’s been involved with a
wealthy and influential patron.”
“Although he deleted it within minutes, the internet is abuzz with speculation about who it could be.”
Davis took a deep breath and asked, “Natalie is in that cast, isn’t she?”
“Yes,” the assistant paused before replying cautiously.
Davis hadn’t expected Brian to have hooked up with Natalie already. What extraordinary trait did this dangerous siren possess to
have Brian so fixated on her?

“Furthermore, Mr. Brian has arranged for Natalie to move into Majestic Meadows Manor, having Madelyn relocate,” the assistant
continued.
Spinning sharply towards his assistant, Davis demanded, “When did this happen?”
