Chapter 169
Since things had come to this point, whether she and Kellan would ever tie the knot, Natalie felt it was only fair he knew about
her past relationship with Brian. Even though he felt like a brother to her, Kellan had become a part of her family, and he
deserved to know the truth.
Natalie’s pause stretched too long, and something clicked in Kellan’s mind.
He hadn’t wanted to bring up Brian, but it was clear that Brian had become an issue between
him and Natalie.
“It’s about him, isn’t it?” Kellan spoke up the moment Natalie opened her mouth to speak.
Their eyes met as Natalie lifted her gaze.
“Did you know Brian dumped thirty million into my account several days ago?” Kellan probed further.
Natalie suddenly remembered that night when Brian asked her how much Kellan had given her over the years, vowing to pay it
back tenfold or a hundred fold. She hadn’t expected Brian to follow through!
Noticing the shift in Natalie’s eyes, Kellan grabbed her wrist and examined it. He had noticed something about her wrist earlier.
“So, what Gavin told me was true,” he said quietly, staring at the faint marks that hadn’t completely faded from her skin. They
were from the belt Brian had used that night.
“Did you agree, or did Brian force it on you?” His grip tightened around Natalie’s hand.
Natalie hadn’t expected Gavin to spill the beans to Kellan. That was outside her plans. She hesitated before replying, “No matter
what happened at that time, it’s already...”
“So, he forced you.” Kellan cut her off, not letting her continue.
Kellan was barely suppressing a raging fury, managing to stand calmly before Natalie.
His Natalie, whom he cherished and treated like a precious treasure, whom he couldn’t bear to touch too roughly, whom he
respected and cared for, was trampled underfoot by that man, her dignity crushed, her body harmed.
“I’ll kill him,” he said softly, his eyes filled with a bloodthirsty ferocity.
If he killed Brian, he could ensure Natalie would never be hurt again.
“Don’t!” Natalie’s heart leaped, and her gaze locked onto his.
“Kellan, you mean so much to me! I don’t want you to get hurt because of me! Brian...”
“Don’t?” Kellan couldn’t help frowning. Brian had hurt her so badly, yet she was still protecting
Brian.
Chapter 169
“Of course not!” Natalie replied, her brows tightly furrowed.
She knew well the extent of Kellan’s capabilities and influence. But Brian was also no pushover. If Kellan went after him, it was
bound to backfire!
She didn’t want Kellan to make such a sacrifice for her and couldn’t bear to see him hurt again because of her, like that time
Brian tampered with his medication, nearly turning him into a vegetable.
“Natalie, no one can stop me from doing what I’ve decided,” Kellan said, each word heavy
with intent.
Natalie had never seen Kellan so terrifying, as if he had lost all control.
“Give me time!” she pleaded desperately, throwing her arms around him and burying her face in his chest. “Just a little more
time! You know Audrey owes the Howard family, not me!”
“Give you time, and Brian magically turns into a saint?” Kellan couldn’t help but let out a wry laugh.
“Just one year! In one year...”
Before Natalie could finish, a loud shattering sound from behind interrupted her. The restaurant’s glass windows had exploded.
Silence reigned for a few seconds, then chaos ensued.
