Chapter 73
Jasper was stunned. His heart trembled as he looked at his ex-wife in disbelief.
She was gentle and kind when she was by his side. But now, she was so unruly to the point of hurting others.
"Is it true, Alice?" Jasper's throat felt tight, and he cast a deep gaze at her.
Raising her eyebrows, Alyssa's lips parted in a sinister smile. The sight made Landon clutch his chest. He wondered how a wicked woman could look so stunning.
"Jasper ... What do you mean?" Jasper repeatedly asked Alyssa for confirmation, so Liana was afraid of him being suspicious of her. She began to cry and whine, "Don't you-don't you believe me? Am I so untrustworthy to you?"
She didn't know why Alice would admit it. But it didn't matter as long it helped Liana achieve her goal. It wasn't her problem that Alice was stupid enough to admit it.
"Jasper, take a look at the evil woman you married! She was just a nick away from cutting Liana's artery. She was out for my daughter's life!"
Taking advantage of the situation, Rosaline and Liana began to cry. Jasper continued to stare at Alice coldly, his brow furrowed.
"Alice, when you were part of the Becketts, you weren't so hostile," Sophia said. "You were meek and docile, nothing like a girl who would attack those who disagreed with her."
Sophia glared at Alyssa and asked, "Now that you and Jasper have divorced, you must be showing your true colors. After all, there's no need to hide anymore, right?
"Fortunately, Jasper saw the light and rekindled his relationship with Liana. Otherwise, we would have been deceived by you and your venomous scheme for God knows how long!"
"Mrs. Becketts, that's too much!" Landon cried. He couldn't bear to
hear her speak any more. His eyes narrowed as he was about to argue, but Alyssa grabbed him.
The sight of that hurt Betty's eyes. Chewing on her lips, her hatred for her ex-sister-in-law deepened.
"Make of it what you will," Alyssa replied with a mocking smile.
"Apologize to Liana." Jasper turned away from her, his expression devoid of any warmth. It was as if the three-year relationship was merely a fever dream. It was as if they had never met each other.
Liana was elated. She couldn't stop herself from smiling. She thought, "Look, bitch, Jaspers has always loved me. You were his wife for three years and dedicated your heart and soul to him. You did everything for his family. However, all I need to do is lift a finger, and Jasper will become your enemy. My crocodile tears are worth more than your heart and soul!"
Alyssa raised her head high and walked up to Liana. Without a word, she slapped Liana. Her blow was full of resentment.
It stunned everyone. They paled at the sight.
She had moved so fast that Jasper didn't have time to react. All he registered was the wind from the impact of her slap.
"Ah! How dare you hit me!" It hurt so much that Liana was seeing stars. Her ears were ringing.
"I hit you because you deserve it!" Alyssa's smile disappeared, and she began to tremble in fury. "This slap is for the bracelet Grandpa gave me. What makes you think you can throw a tantrum and break my things?"
"Alice! You've crossed the line!" Jasper growled.
He had noticed her red, swollen wrist when she raised her hand. As her skin was delicate, any minor injury was obvious.
However, he was so angry that he didn't consider any of that. He only glared at her.
Meanwhile, Betty and the Kirkman sisters never expected Alyssa would behave so arrogantly in front of Jasper.
