Can’t Win Me Back by Ginger Sue

Chapter 74

Alyssa wasn't someone to be trifled with.

"Listen up, everyone. From now on, Liana and I are enemies. If I misspoke, I will end up like this bracelet!"

Alyssa clenched her teeth. Then, she slowly opened her left palm.

Jasper's breath was caught in his throat at the sight of her blood -covered palm. The pieces of the bracelet were also stained with blood.

She loved that bracelet, which was why she kept holding it even though it was broken. She even hurt her hand without noticing it.

Jasper felt emotions overwhelm him. His gaze was unreadable as he stared at Alyssa's face, which was full of resentment. His stone heart began to crack.

"Your hands are bleeding, Ms. White!" Landon exclaimed. He frantically rummaged through all the pockets on his body, looking for a handkerchief, a tissue, or whatever he could find to bandage the wound. However, he couldn't find anything.

Jasper could feel a handkerchief in his chest pocket. He closed his eyes as his hands balled into fists. However, he couldn't muster the courage to give it to her.

Just then, a faint fragrance wafted into his nose. A graceful figure clad in a dark green luxurious dress drifted by him.

Alyssa was momentarily stunned. Mandy was already by her side. She picked the broken pieces of the bracelet from her palm and put them into her pocket. Then, she carefully bandaged Alyssa's wound with a white handkerchief.

Alyssa began to tear up. Chewing her lips, she stopped herself from crying out to her.

"What a pretty little hand! It's heartbreaking to see it bleed." Mandy appeared calm and collected. But she felt an intense desire to tear the Becketts into shreds.

"Long time no see, Mrs. Taylor. Every time I see you, you look more beautiful!"

Sophia's expression instantly changed as she quickly greeted Mandy.

"Hello, Mrs. Taylor!" Rosaline chimed in, smiling as she tried to butter her up.

After all, after the death of Winston's first wife, it was widely accepted that his second wife was officially his legitimate wife. Hence, many people rushed to curry favor with her.

Moreover, Mandy was the youngest daughter of the Lovelaces. Even though she had completely broken ties with the Lovelaces when she married Winston, she still hailed from a noble family. The Kirkman sisters were incomparable to her.

"Mrs. Beckett," Mandy greeted back in acknowledgment. She usually couldn't be bothered, but she did it for Javier's sake.

As for Rosaline, Mandy regarded her as if she was a lowly lifeform. Hence, she made an expression as if she was whiffing a pungent smell.

Rosaline's smile froze. She was embarrassed as she had made a fool of herself.

"You seem to know Ms. White. It's no wonder Ms. White replaced Mr. Taylor to participate in the auction today. Her lavish spending at the venue left a deep impression. How could you not know her?"

Seeing that Mandy was especially concerned about Alyssa, Sophia had suspicions about their relationship. Hence, she decided to probe Mandy's reaction secretly.

"Of course, I know Ms. White. Jonah invited her," Mandy said. She raised her eyebrows.

She knew Sophia was up to no good, so she answered half- heartedly. She was interested to see how she would respond.

"In that case, you must not know her very well."

"Must I know her that well?" Mandy's smile didn't reach her eyes.

"I think you need to." With a calm chuckle, Sophia added, "Ms. White here might become Mr. Taylor's wife. She might become part of your family."

"Oh? Is Ms. White Jonah's girlfriend?" Mandy asked, eyebrows raised.

"Of course! The moment Ms. White divorced Jasper, she set her sights on Mr. Taylor. I was really worried for her back then. After all, she's a village girl living in a foreign city. What would she do after divorcing Jasper? But when I saw that she had Mr. Taylor taking care of her, I was relieved."

Sophia looked at Alyssa gleefully.

Mandy's eyes narrowed, and the air in the room changed.
