Longinus came looking for James because he knew that he annihilated a Macrocosm Ancestral God of the Sixth Universe in the
Chaos outside the Twelfth Universe. The Sixth Universe had always had a close relationship with the First. Since James, also
known as Forty-Nine, annihilated Santino Hiram, this made him an enemy of Longinus’ enemy. That was why he wanted to win
him over to his side. A guy like James who could easily annihilate a Three-Power Macrocosm Ancestral God with a Chaotic
Treasure was not to be trifled with. However, he did not expect James to try and win him over instead.
He immediately froze.
James looked at him and smiled, asking, “What do you think? You will be a deputy, you know? As long as you help me ascend
the throne, there will be no problem at all.”
Longinus immediately burst into a peal of laughter.
“Interesting, I’m beginning to like you more now. However, becoming the Lord of the new universe requires strength.”
Longinus could not see through James’ rank. So, he tried asking, “Since you dare compete against the Omnipotent Lord, what
do you think your chances are against him?”
“This, huh...” James pretended to ruminate before saying, “I’m not sure. Why don’t you personally ask the Omnipotent Lord? I
think he has a clearer understanding.”
This was James’ trick. He did not know whether Mirabelle had relayed the information to the Omnipotent Lord or the Omnipotent
Lord had looked into the matter. If they both did, the Omnipotent Lord should be fearful of him now. Now, he was trying to
mislead Longinus.
Hearing this, Longinus’ expression was grim. He did not know who Forty-nine was at that point. So, he said nothing and simply
stood up before turning to leave.
After leaving James’ accommodation, he headed toward the place of residence of the Omnipotent Lord, who was his arch-rival.
All this while, under the suppression of the Omnipotent Lord, the Second Universe had it rough.
There were some buildings on the peak of a spiritual mountain in the Ancestral Holy Site. In a main hall, the Omnipotent Lord
had summoned the Macrocosm Ancestral Gods of the First Universe and other universes. They were in the midst of discussing
the conference.
Sitting on the throne, the Omnipotent Lord looked at them and promised, “Once I become the Lord of the new universe, I
promise I will not mistreat you.”
However, at that moment, Longinus walked in casually with a nonchalant expression on his face. As he entered the main hall, he
was immediately the center of attention.
The Omnipotent Lord’s expression darkened as he questioned coldly, “What are you doing here?”
“Hahaha...” Longinus scanned his surroundings and said smilingly, “You are now in a meeting with your subordinates before the
conference has even begun. It seems that you are quite determined to become the Lord of the new universe.”
There were about twenty Macrocosm Ancestral Gods present. Most of them were Macrocosm Ancestral Gods of the First
Universe who had been won over by the Omnipotent Lord. Among them was Lishai Baishan, the Lord of the Sixth Universe.
Everyone stared at Longinus in alarm, fearful that he would resort to violence here.
Longinus walked into the main hall and took a seat. As he chewed on the divine fruits on the table, he said, “You should know
what kind of man the Omnipotent Lord is. He’s a devious schemer who’ll backstab anyone whenever the opportunity arises. Not
once have his promises been fulfilled. So why support him?”
He continued, “Why don’t you lend me your support? I promise I will grant you enormous benefits once I’m the Lord of the new
universe.”
Longinus began to court them even though he knew he would fail.
