Wael was considered one of the top cultivators of the Verde Academy. The man was even deemed a genius cultivator who had
shown the greatest potential in achieving the Chaos Rank in the Verde District.
Unfortunately, he committed a grave mistake in the past. Since then, Wael had been tormented by his internal conflicts and inner
demons. Not only did he not make any progress in his cultivation, but Wael had also noticed signs of his powers regressing.
Therefore, Wael planned to make James the next head of the Tempris House. After the transition, he could then embark on a
journey with the hopes of finding solace for his personal issues.
“We are not sure when the Headmaster will return. Once he is back, he’ll officiate the battle between you and Wynona. You
should prepare yourself for the time being. Wynona Yurro is not an easy opponent.”
After sharing that advice, Wael got up and left the room to give James privacy. A short while later, James cast a formation around
his room to keep his aura contained within the space. Then, he also set up a time formation.
James began absorbing the Acme-grade herbs to grow and improve his bloodline power. He had no idea how much time had
passed since he was focused on his cultivation.
After some time, James detected slight movement outside his formation. He stopped training and removed the formations
around his room. In an instant, he sensed that 300 years had gone by in the outside world since he started refining the herbs.
Someone opened the door and came in the next instant. It was Wael again.
The elderly man had a bright smile on his face. “How did your training go?”
“It went well,” James replied cheerfully.
After awakening the Thousand Paths Holy Body and reaching the late stage in the Ninth Rank of Omniscience Path, James’
spiritual powers had grown substantially as well. He could tell that even his spiritual powers had entered the late stage of Caelum
Acme Rank, just like his bloodline power. On the surface, his cultivation rank still remained the same as before.
“That’s wonderful news.”
Wael continued, “Our Headmaster has returned to Verde Academy, and is waiting at the main hall now. I’m here to take you
there right now.”
Wael grabbed James by the arm and dragged him along.
Soon enough, both of them arrived inside the hall. James could see over hundreds of cultivators had gathered in the main hall.
Most of them were incredible and well-known powerhouses from the Five Houses of the Verde Academy.
A sagely-looking elderly gentleman stood at the center of the stage. He was the Verde Academy’s Headmaster, Lothar Qoreto.
“That’s James Caden!”
“Mhm. Even Eamon Jezekiel from the Zastra House was no match for him.”
There were soft murmurs among the crowd as soon as James entered the main hall. A lady in a pink dress standing just a few
steps away from Lothar silently directed her gaze at James as well.
“Sir Lothar, I’ve brought James Caden here.” Wael bowed to Lothar slightly.
“Thanks.” Lothar nodded. “Since everyone is already here, I’ll briefly explain the rules of the battle.”
James and the young lady in pink turned their attention toward Lothar.
“Contenders are allowed to use any signature skills, weapons, and tactics during the battle. Still, both parties must exercise
respect and demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
“If any one of the contenders admits defeat during the match, the other person has to stop their attack immediately. Those who
do not adhere to the rules will be severely punished.
“Alright. Let’s head to the arena now.”
When James and the group of cultivators had made it to the arena, they could see that many students had shown up at the
venue as well.
“Good luck, James!”
“James, we’re counting on you!”
