Wael sat down on a chair. He stroked his beard and said cheerily, “All these years, I’ve dreamed of making the Tempris House a
reputable and highly sought-after institute once again. Sadly, no one was willing to join our house because of my past mistake.
Since you’ve joined us, I am starting to see hope for us once more. I’ve decided to pass over the position of Head of Tempris
House to you.”
James hurriedly shook his head. “Sir Wael, you shouldn’t do that! You can’t!”
James had joined the Tempris House since he needed a safe and peaceful place to concentrate on his cultivation and training.
He did not want to be bothered with the duties and responsibilities of managing an institution.
Wael snapped at him, “You should leap at this opportunity, young man! Do you have any idea the pressure I’m under trying to
make you the next head of the Tempris House? Can you imagine how much work I have to do? Elders from the other houses are
all eyeing this position!”
James tried to steer the conversation away from this topic. He asked, “Sir Wael, have you ever heard of Emperor Raiah? His real
name is Seraiah Grantis.”
“Emperor Raiah? Seraiah Grantis?” After a short pause, Wael shook his head, “Who’s that? Is he a famous powerhouse?”
James narrowed his eyes. “You know about Wynne
Dalganus, the Sword Demon. Yet, why haven’t you heard of Emperor Raiah?”
Wael gave a slight shrug. “Wynne Dalganus was a cultivator who had left an impressive and long-lasting mark on the Endlos’
history. Although he has long passed, his philosophy and skills continued to influence countless generations of sword cultivators
after him. Many cultivators wish to visit the place where he stored his sword, the Dalganus Sword, to get a good look at it.”
James tapped on his jaw.
‘That can’t be right. Zeno said Wynne Dalganus was Emperor Raiah’s friend and subordinate. Yet, why do people only know
about Wynne Dalganus but not of Seraiah Grantis?’ James was confused as he thought about it.
Since Wael did not seem to know much about Emperor Raiah, James decided not to drag the conservation. He politely
suggested, “If that is all, you should get going then, Sir Wael. I’m planning to train for a while.”
“James, you should reconsider being the head of the Tempris House. If you are up for it, I’ll do everything in my power to help
you earn the position!” Wael persuaded.
“Nah! I’m not interested.” James refused adamantly. He truly had no desire to take over Wael’s position.
‘There are a lot of perks to being the head of a house in the Verde Academy, though. Even if they were to abolish the Tempris
House someday, the herb gardens found in our spiritual mountains would still be under your ownership. We
also have numerous books and archives of various signature skills in the library. Once you agree to be the head, they are all
yours!
“Also, you’ll make a name for yourself in the Verde District if you become the head of the Tempris House. People will treat you
with utmost respect no matter where you go!
“Most importantly, do you know what’s the most powerful Supernatural Power the Verde Academy possesses?”
‘The founding father of the Verde District had left a sacred scroll in our possession. All along, only the heads of the houses will
receive the opportunity to read the sacred scroll. Regrettably, no one has been able to fully comprehend the contents of the scroll
to this day. Aren’t you curious about what’s contained in the sacred scroll?”
James was intrigued by Wael’s final remarks about the sacred scroll. He asked, “Do you know what’s written inside the sacred
scroll?”
Wael shook his head. ‘The only thing I am certain of is that we’ve had the scroll since the moment the Verde Academy was
established. Moreover, I’ve heard that the other eight districts also have one of these scrolls. They were likely left behind by a
superior cultivator. Unfortunately, no one could confirm the origin of these scrolls since there were no records about them.”
James’ eyes shone with excitement. “I get to see the sacred scroll if I become the head of the Tempris House?”
‘That’s right.” Wael beamed widely. “I’ll do my best to assist you in becoming the next head. Also, you’ll need to defeat Wynona
Yurro in the coming battle.”
“Alright. I’ll do it.”
James nodded firmly. He had agreed to Wael’s offer purely for the sake of the sacred scroll.
Wael let out a sigh of relief. “After handing over the position to you, perhaps I’ll leave the Tempris House and embark on a new
journey. It might just be what I need to get out of my slump.”
