Chapter 1116
Susan strut around in her low-cut, tight tee and a skirt that flirted dangerously with the upper reaches of her thighs. With a
deliberate bend, she set down the juice in front of Lysander.
As she leaned forward, the view down her shirt was unobstructed, and as her hips cocked up, the already short hem of her skirt
lifted, offering a glimpse of her backside!
Her seductive, fawning demeanor was obvious.
What man wouldn’t be tempted, and what woman wouldn’t scoff at such a display?
She was blatantly flaunting her voluptuous figure to entice Lysander, that much was clear. Thalassa saw Susan’s coy smile filled
with ingratiation aimed at Lysander, and felt a stab of discomfort, as if her heart was being squeezed. She quickly averted her
gaze, refusing to witness such a scene and mentally insisting that no matter how close Susan got to Lysander, it was none of her
business.
“Mr. Sinclair, do try this,” Susan cooed, placing a specially prepared juice on the table before Lysander, eager for his attention
despite his stoic demeanor. “I made it myself; it’s
delicious.”
Despite being rebuffed countless times, Susan couldn’t suppress the yearning to win Lysander over, her heart fluttering with
desire.
“Take it away! I never accept anything from strangers, especially unknown beverages. Who knows if it’s tainted?” Lysander’s
gaze was icy as he dismissed her, his words sharp and cutting. Though he seemed to be criticizing the drink, his insinuation was
clear- Susan was the unclean element with impure intentions.
Susan’s hand trembled, holding the juice; Lysander’s formidable presence pinned her yearning heart in place. Even if Susan
mustered all her courage, she couldn’t dare to leave the drink before him.
Retracting her hand slightly, Susan’s pride wouldn’t allow her to retreat without a fight. Her family’s financial downfall, from riches
to rags because of her parents’ failures, haunted
her.
If she couldn’t latch onto Lysander, she’d be doomed to humiliating gigs like yesterday’s clown act for a meager paycheck. But if
she could just attach herself to Lysander, even without marriage, she’d have access to untold wealth.
Wasn’t Thalassa living proof, having swindled over a billion through her proximity to Lysander?
Suppressing her resentment and discontent, Susan maintained a smile and turned to Thalassa, saying sweetly, “Thalassa, I
remember you like these. Here, have this one.”

Chapter 1116
If she wanted to get closer to Lysander, she needed him to see how close she was to Thalassa. Last time, at the Draven
International Hotel, it was her newfound rapport with Thalassa that had lowered Lysander and Joshua’s guard, leading them to
drink the spiked beverage.
As Susan attempted to place the juice before her, Thalassa pushed the glass back toward
Susan’s chest.
“I couldn’t possibly, Susan. How could I dare to drink anything you’ve prepared? Especially when you’ve made it yourself – I’m
even more cautious. What if, like last time, you’ve tampered with it? I wouldn’t even know how I died, would I?” Though
Thalassa’s tone seemed light, her words were icy and pointed.
She didn’t spell it out, but her implication was clear- the drug in the drinks at the Draven International Hotel had been Susan’s
doing.
Lysander’s penetrating gaze shifted to Thalassa, and he saw the hostility in her eyes when she faced Susan. He suddenly
understood that the drug in the wine wasn’t administered by Thalassa; it wasn’t a ploy to bring him and Susan together.
Instead, it was Susan who had drugged the wine, using herself as bait, drinking the tainted beverage to lower his guard and
seduce him, then making her move on his room.
