The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 1260
“What?” Thalassa gasped, her eyes wide with shock as she looked up at Callum.
Evelyn also wore an expression of complete surprise, her gaze fixed on Callum.
“I’m just joking. Look at how you both scared.” Callum’s face broke into an easygoing smile, his tone light and teasing.
Seeing Callum’s relaxing chuckle and hearing his assurance that it was all in jest, Thalassa’s heart finally eased.
Her shocked and astonished expression softened into a playful smile as she said, “You’d better be joking. Falling for me can only
bring bad luck.”
She wasn’t trying to scare Callum. She was serious.
Lysander was not someone to be trifled with.
Anyone who got close to her would have Lysander to answer to, and Callum had already had two encounters with her-resulting
in a broken leg and a fractured wrist.
And that was just from approaching her as a friend. If he truly fell for her, Thalassa feared
for his life.
It wasn’t an overreaction. There were precedents.
If Leopold hadn’t loved her so dearly, he might still be alive.

A suffocating pain clenched Thalassa’s heart at the thought of Leopold.
Leopold had become the untouchable wound in her soul-one that left her breathless at the slightest touch.
“You really have a dark sense of humor. I’ve never heard of bad luck from liking someon Callum quipped.
“It’s not humor. It’s a grim fact,” Thalassa replied, a warning to Callum not to jump into th
fire.
“Look here, Mr. Gordon. Thalassa’s already a mother of four children, only fit to romance the kids’ dad. You’re quite the looker,
Mr. Gordon, with a great personality to boot. You should find a simple girl to marry.” It was Evelyn, who had always been pushing
Thalassa to settle down, now advising Callum.
By “simple”, she meant a woman without kids and with an uncomplicated love history, someone who could marry and have
children without drama.
Even Thalassa’s mother thought it was better for Callum not to fall for Thalassa.
Just as she had said, it would only bring misfortune.

Chapter 1260
Callum was a good man, and Evelyn didn’t want to see anything happen to him.
“Talk like that and people will start to think you’re all looking down on me,” Callum said with a gentle warmth in his smile, as if a
spring breeze graced his face.
Though it sounded like banter, his words held a sincere undertone.
Many truths are often spoken in jest, making rejection less awkward.
“It’s not that, it’s just that I’m not worthy. You deserve the best, Mr. Gordon.” Before Evelyn could answer, Thalassa interjected,
addressing Callum’s remark.

Soon, they arrived at the restaurant, where a cheerful waiter greeted them.
They took their seats by the window, and the waiter brought over a menu. Thalassa handed the menu to Callum.
“Mr. Gordon, after you.”
“How about I order something with garlic? Thalassa, you can’t seem to call me by my first name.” Callum teased.
With one hand casually draped over his neck and the other holding the menu, a playful smile played on his lips as he looked
tenderly at Thalassa.
He had reminded Thalassa several times to call him Callum, or even by his middle name, but she always stuck to the formal “Mr.
Gordon,” a title that seemed to put the greatest distance between them.
Thalassa paused for a moment, then realizing his point. She said, “Just a few days apart, and Mr. Gordon has turned into Mr.
Comedian.
“Alright, alright, let’s order. I’m starving,” Evelyn intervened, tired of their mutual modesty
