Chapter 730
Lysander’s handsome face looked as grim as a thunderstorm. His eyes became as sharp as a blade.
With trembling fingers, David quickly ended the call, not giving Thalassa a chance to continue speaking.
“Mr. Sinclair, I had no idea Ms. Everhart was so upset. I thought she had some good news to announce.” David explained to
Lysander, his nerves frayed.
Had he known that Lysander and Thalassa had fought, he would have never taken Thalassa’s call.
Since Thalassa used his phone to throw harsh words at Lysander, it left him alone to face Lysander’s wrath.
He was surely the victim here.
He felt like a piece of bologna in between bread. He was caught in the middle.
Last time, Thalassa used him to repay money to Lysander, and now she used his phone to throw harsh remarks at Lysander.
The biggest injustice David had ever suffered in his life was all due to Thalassa.
The deepest pit he had ever stumbled into was the one dug by Lysander.
It seemed that Thalassa and Lysander were truly two peas in a pod.
They were always finding him to take advantage of.
Lysander’s icy gaze swept over him. “Do you have nothing better to do?”
David was taken aback and then hastily nodded. “Yes, I do.”
With that, he quickly retreated, making a fast exit from the office.
Once he was out of the chilly office, he finally took a deep breath.
It seemed he needed to be more careful about answering calls from Thalassa in the future, or else he would be facing even more
trouble in the future. Thalassa, having vented her frustrations, didn’t get a response. All she heard was the sound of the call
being ended.
She stared at the phone screen as her chest rose and fell slightly. She was still seething.
The fact that David had hung up so quickly, without uttering a word, proved that Lysander was right there. David must have been
too afraid to let her
continue.
Lysander must have heard everything she just said.
For a moment, she felt incredibly satisfied.
Why should she allow herself to be oppressed by Lysander without even fighting back?
However, after the satisfaction passed, regret quickly set in.
Venting at Lysander felt good, but what if he retaliated even more harshly? He might even forbid her from seeing their children
forever.
Thalassa began to feel extremely anxious.
When she arrived at work, Betty was already at her desk, looking quite happy. “Thalassa, you came early today. I bought an
extra breakfast and was wondering what to do with it. This bagel and coffee are for you.”
With that, she placed a bagel and a cup of coffee on her desk.
Thanks.” Thalassa said. She got up at five in the morning and rushed to Royal Estates without having any time for breakfast.
“What’s wrong? You look pale.” Betty asked as she rotated her chair to Thalassa’s desk while nibbling on her bagel as she
spoke.
“Do I? Maybe I just didn’t sleep well.” Thalassa rubbed her face, as if trying to bring some color back.
“Did you get a boyfriend? Is that why you didn’t sleep well?” Betty asked with a teasing smile on her face.
Thalassa was taken aback.
What on earth was Betty implying?
Wasn’t she supposed to be aloof and reserved?
Since when did she start making jokes like this?
