Chapter 783
Thalassa was livid with rage.
But now, seeing Betty kneeling before Sophia, pleading for mercy, Thalassa’s anger melted away. Approaching Betty, she said,
“Alright, off you go.”
Betty looked up, her eyes shyly seeking Lysander’s approval. Thalassa had given her permission to leave, which elated her, but
she dared not move unless Lysander said so.
“Scram!” Lysander said coldly.
Betty scampered away in a hurry.
“Mr. Sinclair, please have some water. We apologize for letting such a person offend you,” the manager of the store said
apologetically, arriving upon hearing the commotion. He was extremely cautious and respectful.
The staff at the jewelry counter were terrified and remained silent. They were mere spectators to the entire scene, unable to say
anything.
Lysander glanced sternly at the store manager.
The manager trembled, almost spilling the cup of water in his shaking hands.
“Bring me the best jewelry as Mother’s Day gifts you have in-store,” Lysander commanded.
The manager, taken aback, quickly nodded, a glint of excitement visible through his fear. “Yes, sir, we’ll get them right away.”
The manager hastily instructed the store staff to bring forth their premium Mother’s Day gifts.
Thalassa looked curiously at Lysander. Was he asking for Mother’s Day gifts because of what the kids had said earlier?
The staff hurriedly went to arrange the best Mother’s Day gifts.
“Mr. Sinclair, we have a lounge over there. You can rest there while we bring the gifts,” the manager said cautiously, putting on a
smiling face.
“Okay,” Lysander responded. He picked Sophia up in his arms and took Elowen’s chubby little hand, heading towards the
lounge. Thalassa followed them, leading Dorian and Atticus by the hand.
Just as they took a few steps, a familiar voice rang out.
“Bring them over here, and be careful.”
It was a voice Thalassa knew all too well. She turned to see Leopold, leading a group of workers into the store. Each worker
carried a box and placed it where he instructed.
As Thalassa looked at Leopold, he also turned his gaze towards her. Their eyes met, and a silent, brooding atmosphere filled the
air. Leopold’s amber eyes seemed melancholic, making Thalassa’s heart clench.
Before she could figure out the meaning behind Leopold’s gaze, a chilling sensation crept down her spine. She turned around
and caught Lysander’s icy stare..
A shiver ran down her spine, making her heart shrink in panic. She lowered her eyes silently.
Meanwhile, Leopold had averted his gaze, not greeting them. It was as if he had merely seen a stranger.
He continued instructing the workers to unpack the mobile phones from the boxes and place them on the counter.
The mall was a marketing point for Leopold’s mobile phones.
Suddenly, the phones inside the counter exploded in a chain reaction. The customers standing nearby scattered in panic as
sparks and fragments of glass flew in all directions.
“Watch out!” Thalassa’s pupils dilated in shock. She instinctively pulled the two kids into her arms, shielding them with her body
from the explosion behind her.
