Chapter 826
Lysander’s fingers were white-knuckled around his coffee mug, a stark contrast to the cool, composed aura that seemed to
emanate from him.
His handsome face was as severe as a frozen lake in the throes of winter.
David, feeling the sudden drop in temperature within the office, tensed up; his heart was pounding wildly in his chest.
With a slight nod, he silently exited the room.
Thalassa made her way to Leossa Electronics, following Ethan’s advice to check for any unusual activities.
As soon as she entered, she noticed the grim and hurried expressions of the workers. Some were engrossed in their work;
others were packing their belongings.
Something was definitely off.
She stopped a random worker, “Why are you packing? Is it already quitting time?”
The worker looked panicked and hastily replied, “The company is downsizing. I have to leave now.”
Before Thalassa could ask anything more, he picked up his belongings and quickly walked off.
Several other workers followed suit, leaving the factory with their belongings in tow.
Those remaining sat at their desks, looked all tensed up. They were so focusing on work and didn’t dare to slack off at all.
It was a stark contrast to the relaxed atmosphere she had noted during her previous visits to the factory.
Now, a sense of unease filled the air, leaving Thalassa puzzled.
What on earth had happened?
Thalassa approached the factory manager seeking answers.
The manager then explained, “There was an explosion incident. The higher-ups are overhauling the factory environment and
firing those who were negligent. The rest are strictly ordered to stay on their guard.”
With this, Thalassa finally understood that the Sinclair group was rectifying Leossa Electronics. Given the magnitude of the
incident, the rectification seemed justified.
She then asked, “Have there been any unusual incidents in the factory recently?”
The factory manager blinked his guilty eyes and averted his gaze, “Nope. What else could possibly happen apart from the
overhauling?”
David had instructed him to keep a lid on their investigations against the workers. This information was confidential; if it got out,
he would be in serious trouble.
Representing the authority of Lysander, the factory manager dared not reveal anything.
“Alright then, sorry for the disturbance. I should head back to the office,” Thalassa excused herself, leaving Leossa Electronics.
While hailing a cab, a silver Porsche suddenly pulled up beside her.
Assuming she was blocking the road, Thalassa started to move away. Just then, the window rolled down to reveal a handsome
face with chestnut hair that glowed golden in the sunlight.
Leopold’s usually sunny face was tinged with a hint of melancholy and seriousness.
“Leopold!” Thalassa was surprised to see him here.
“Thalassa, get in. I’ll give you a lift, Leopold offered; his voice was slightly hoarse.
Despite her initial hesitation and Lysander’s prior warning, Thalassa found herself relenting under Leopold’s earnest gaze. The
amber depths of his eyes held a melancholy she had never seen before.
Feeling a twinge of unease, Thalassa eventually got into the car.
