The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 827
Upon seeing Leopold driving one-handed due to a bandaged hand, Thalassa expressed her concern, “Why you are driving while
you are still recovering from the hurt?”
Seemingly prepared for the question, Leopold replied, “The victim’s family is making quite a scene. Being the direct hire of those
two workers, it’s my responsibility to figure out the exact cause of the accident. I can’t just sit around in the hospital.”
He spoke without diverting his gaze from the road ahead, not even to look at Thalassa.
Thalassa nodded in understanding. Leopold should also be investigating the incident at Leossa Electronics, she thought.
She had witnessed the confrontation between the victim’s family and Leopold at the hospital. The accident’s cause was still a
mystery, and Leopold must be under a lot of pressure.
Without asking her where to go, Leopold drove her to Starhaven College and parked in the campus parking lot.
Confused, Thalassa asked, “I still have to go to work. Why did you bring me here?”
Leopold opened the car door for her, saying, “This is our alma mater. It’s been a while since you’ve been here, hasn’t it? A trip
down memory lane won’t
hurt.”
This was where they met and fell in love, the place where Leopold’s fondest memories resided.
Thalassa thought for a moment and agreed. She hadn’t been back since she left.
Despite living in Starhaven, her busy work schedule and the task of caring for four kids left her with no time, or even the thought
of revisiting the college.
She had always regretted not receiving her graduation certificate from Starhaven College. A trip back to the old grounds seemed
like a good idea.
As they strolled through the park’s shaded paths, a gentle breeze carried the youthful scent of the blooming water lilies from the
nearby lake.

The fragrance was intoxicating for Leopold. He felt as if he was drunk.
Leopold paused, turning to Thalassa who also stopped.
Seeing his warm eyes, she felt a bit uneasy, “Why did you stop?”
“I’m tired. Let’s sit on the bench for a bit,” he replied, moving to sit on a nearby bench.
Thalassa hesitated slightly before joining him, ensuring there was enough space between them for another person.
Leopold noticed her deliberate attempt to maintain a distance but said nothing. He gazed at the lilies-filled pond, the lush leaves
cradling the vibrant flowers. The air filled with the scent of water lilies, a sight that was calming and intoxicating.
“We used to sit here on our dates, quietly admiring the water lilies. You would always get excited when a dragonfly skimmed the
water’s surface,” Leopold suddenly spoke; his voice was filled with nostalgia.
Those days were truly innocent and beautiful.
The lovebirds were once dreaming of the future and planning their future with each other in the life blueprint.
But life was unpredictable, and many things had changed.
How did they end up here?
Thalassa could hear the sadness in Leopold’s words. She took a deep breath and said, “The past is the past, we should look
forward. You deserve. better.”
A sharp pain hit Leopold’s heart. Hitching his breath, he tried to hide his emotions and turned to her. Smiling, he reached his
hand and ruffled her hair just
like he used to do.
“Yes, we should look forward. The thing I regret most in this life, Thalassa, is suggesting that trip to your house that summer.”
