Chapter 869
“Thalassa, as your sister, I’ve been running around town for your sake, trying to dig up some information about Lysander’s
marriage prospects. Now that I’ve got some substantial intel, you’re giving me the cold shoulder?” Susan said, her voice filled
with frustration as Thalassa remained quiet.
She spoke as though she was doing this for Thalassa’s benefit. But in reality, it was for her own advantage.
Thalassa sneered inwardly, but her face remained a cool, distant mask.
“There’s an empty table over there, and you can sit there,” Thalassa said without looking up and gestured towards an adjacent
table.
With so many available seats, Susan insisted on sitting across from her. Was it not obvious she was trying to instigate an
argument?
Thalassa wasn’t naive enough to believe that Susan was genuinely concerned about her well–being. When Susan and her
mother invaded Thalassa’s home, hurling insults and throwing punches at her mother, where was this sisterly affection then?
This pretense of goodwill was more dangerous than a venomous snake.
Susan’s face stiffened momentarily as she was dismissed, but it didn’t take long for her to recover and plaster a friendly smile
back onto her face.
Thalassa, we’ve had our differences. I apologize for my previous hasty actions. Please don’t take it to heart. I genuinely care
about you. Lysander is such a good man, and you’ve given him four children. You deserve to be Mrs. Sinclair, so don’t let
another woman steal that title.” Susan said, her eyes subtly scanning Thalassa.
Thalassa was wearing a white evening gown with a decorative heart–shaped pocket at the waist.
It was ornamental and functional.
1 don’t need your concern. Thank you.” Thalassa responded coldly, not bothering to hide her disinterest as she continued to
nibble on her pastry.
Unfazed, Susan stood up and walked over to Thalassa, wrapping an arm around her as if they were close friends, whispering
into her ear, “Thalassa, Charlotte’s just a busty bimbo. If you need, I can help you get rid of her. Then, the title of Mrs. Sinclair will
rightfully be yours...”
Thalassa was taken aback as Susan whispered into her ear.
The words made her scoff and feel disgusted.
She wondered who was the one just buttering up Charlotte with flattery and acting like a sycophant. And now, she was calling
Charlotte a bimbo
Those who say one thing to your face and another behind your back are the most frightening.
Thalassa stood up abruptly, distancing herself from Susan, her face stern and repelling. “Stay away from me!”
But Thalassa, I really do care about. Susan explained, her face a picture of hurt as she glanced towards Charlotte.
Charlotte, catching Susan’s eye, quickly got up and approached Thalassa, grabbing her hand in concern, “What’s going on?
What were you two talking about?”
She eyed Susan suspiciously
Susan looked flustered her eyes darting around in apparent fear.
Thalassa pulled her hand away from Charlotte, not wanting to get tangled up with the two of them, “Nothing With that, she turned
to leave.
But Charlotte grabbed Thalassa’s wrist, her voice full of accusation “Well well, Thalassa! In just a few seconds, you managed to
steal my bracelet”
Thalassa’s eyes darkened her voice sharp “What are you talking about?”
Charlotte held up her wrist, which until a moment ago had been adorned with a Bracelet. Now it was gone. She accused. The
beidfoom that the Sinclair family gifted me is missing! You were the last one to touch my hand if you didn’t take it, then who
