The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 253
“How do you think they can help with this? Do you want the Xanthos family to be Jonathan’s enemy? Or should the Xanthos
family invest hundreds of millions of dollars into our company to boost the stock price?” Howard asked.
In an instant, Sandra stopped talking. It was not like she knew nothing about business matters. After hearing what her husband
said, she understood it was impossible for them to ask the Xanthos family for help.
Not to mention whether the Xanthos family could come up with hundreds of millions in cash at once, just the idea of going
against Jonathan was already impossible.
“W-What should we do then?” Sandra was anxious. “What the hell is wrong with Jonathan? How could he be so infatuated with a
woman like Rosalie? Did she use some enchantment or drug on him? She’s just a slut that Zachary didn’t want back then!”
Howard grew impatient and replied, “That’s enough. You can say whatever you want in front of me, but don’t bring this up in front
of outsiders. Otherwise, we’ll get into unnecessary trouble,”
Sandra looked reluctant but did not say anything more.
“I’ll meet Jonathan and see what he intends to do,” Howard said. He could not let Rosalie be the reason for the Hamilton family’s
crisis.
However, when Howard actually met with Jonathan, he was taken aback by the unexpected condition the latter proposed.
“It’s possible for me to back off now. Within ten days, you must raze the shopping mall where you once kicked out Rosalie to the
ground. Then I’ll consider this matter settled,” Jonathan said indifferently.
Howard could hardly believe his ears. “Razed the mall to the ground?” Did Jonathan mean he had to demolish the shopping
mall? Setting aside the cost of building, the shopping mall was profitable in the city center. Just the task of convincing the
shareholders to demolish it would be impossible.
“Jonathan, I think there might be some misunderstandings between us. Maybe we can discuss alternative solutions if you want
to seek revenge for Ms. Leighton?” Howard tried to negotiate with him to minimize the losses.
Nevertheless, Jonathan replied, “I don’t think there’s any misunderstanding. But you are right. I want to seek revenge for her. You
should consider yourself fortunate that I didn’t have someone remove your wife’s arm, which was used to hit her. I’ve already

shown enough respect to the Hamilton family.”
Instantly, Howard’s face suddenly turned grim. “At the very least, Melanie was your fiancée back then. Can you let this go for the
sake of Melanie? Or perhaps I can compensate Ms. Leighton well?”
Howard wanted to play the emotional card, but Jonathan stared at him with a half-smile. “For the sake of Melanie?”
It was as if Howard had told the funniest joke in the world.
Upon hearing what Jonathan said, Howard felt embarrassed. He only felt that he was cornered by someone much younger than
him. Subconsciously, Howard added, “You are with Rosalie now, but does she know what happened back then?”
With just those words, the atmosphere suddenly grew tense. Jonathan’s dark eyes fixed coldly on Howard. His gaze carried an
evident sense of anger and murderous intent.
“There’s a murderous glint in his eyes!” Howard thought. He was startled, and a chill ran down his spine as if uttering another
word could lead to the end of the Hamilton family.
If in the past Jonathan had been indifferent to what happened, then in the present, he considered those events a taboo.
At that moment, Howard could only feel that the words he was about to say were stuck in his throat, and he could not utter a
single word.
Rosalie arrived at the hospital again to visit Aiden. Unlike the last time, Aiden was awake and interacting with Amelia in the ward.
Amelia pointed at various objects, continually explaining to him what each thing was.
Aiden listened attentively. He was indeed in the state of “listening.” He would use his little fingers to point at the objects Amelia
had just mentioned and repeat the names.
Rosalie shouted, “Aiden!”
In an instant, the little boy turned around and looked in Rosalie’s direction.
That was something that had never happened before. Without a doubt, Aiden could hear her voice. Rosalie’s heart instantly filled
with joy for him.
Being able to hear meant that Aiden could eventually learn to speak. He could be like an ordinary person as long as he wore the
cochlear implant.

While three years old was a bit later, doctors often recommended starting as early as possible. Fortunately, it was not too late for
Aiden. Children at this age were like sponges, absorbing sounds and languages.
Rosalie stepped forward and touched his head, saying, “Aiden, you can hear now. Very soon, you’ll be able to speak”
Aiden seemed to be very excited to hear Rosalie’s voice. He waved his hands vigorously at Rosalie, pointed in various
directions, and made incoherent sounds as if trying to express something.
Rosalie smiled and responded every time Aiden pointed at something.
“Why are you here today? Didn’t you visit Aiden last time?” Amelia asked.
“When I came last time, Aiden was asleep, so I decided to come again today. Fortunately, he’s awake.” Then Rosalie asked
Amelia, “How is Aiden? Is his condition considered good?”
“Not bad at all. He’ll be discharged in a couple of days. After that, he still needs a year of special courses. The doctor said his
language skills should catch up in a year if everything goes smoothly. Then he can attend kindergarten like a normal child.”
Rosalie replied, “If that’s the case, it’s wonderful!”
“Yeah,” Amelia answered with a smile. After that, she asked Matilda to take Aiden to the hospital and poured a glass of water for
Rosalie. “Why isn’t Mr. Youngblood here today?”
“He went to the office. Since I was free at home, I decided to come here.”
“You and him..” Amelia hesitated momentarily before continuing, “Actually, you don’t have to work so hard as a delivery person
here. Mr. Youngblood should be able to find you many better jobs.”
Who would have thought Jonathan’s girlfriend would work as a delivery rider in a small diner like hers? Even Amelia found, it
unbelievable.
Rosalie slightly pursed her lips and answered, “Maybe... It’s because of what little remains of my pride. I hope that I can still be
independent to some extent. I don’t want to become entirely dependent on him like a parasite.”
Perhaps the lessons from her past relationship with Zachary were too deeply ingrained, which was why she insisted on being
independent.
