The Day I Kissed An Older Man

"Okay, drive slowly, and don't rush. I'll wait for you in the restaurant even if everyone else has left," said Melody.
Melody had two drinks with Shaun as she was exhilarated from the roadshow. After she had calmed down a little bit, she began to control her alcohol intake.
However, she had overestimated her tolerance. Those two drinks were already too much for her. Even though she only sipped a bit afterward, her face still became flushed while her eyes became watery. Paige immediately noticed her condition and replaced her drink with a non-alcoholic one. She also instructed the kitchen to prepare a bowl of hangover soup for her.
Shaun came over, looking a bit worried about Melody's condition. "Are you okay?"
Of course, he was asking if it would be okay if Lucas saw her like that.
Paige frowned. "I wonder if she'll have a headache tomorrow. It'll be bad if she does."
Shaun slapped his forehead in frustration. "I told her not to have the second drink, but she insisted on coming over to have that second drink with me. Well, great. I bet she's feeling quite nauseous right now. Serves her right for trying to show off."
Holding her flushed face, Melody lifted her head. "Mister Shaun, what do you mean, showing off? Don't I even get to have a say in how much I want to drink?"
"Why would Lucas ask us to keep an eye on you and stop you from drinking more if you can handle your alcohol? It's because you can't handle it!"
Melody was getting heated up. She pouted and said, "Who says I can't handle it? You all are afraid of Lucas, but I'm not! If I say I can handle it, then I can. Even if he's right in front of me right now, I'll still say the same."
As soon as she finished speaking, the whole place fell silent. Shaun looked behind her with a suppressed smile.
Melody then realized what was happening. Before she could turn, she heard a familiar voice above her head. "Is that so? Can you really drink that much?"
"Uh..."
"I vaguely remember someone promising me before leaving that she'd behave and not drink too much. How come she's turned into a drunkard?" Lucas lowered his head to Melody's face and carefully sniffed the scent of alcohol on her. Fortunately, it was not too strong, indicating that she did listen to him.
However, with her face so flushed, it seemed her tolerance had become even lower. She looked so tipsy, which gave him the perfect opportunity to tease her.
Melody knew her mouth reeked of alcohol, causing her to clench her fists tightly out of nervousness that Lucas might be able to smell it.
"Who's drunk? Not me! I'm perfectly sober. I only had two drinks. If you don't believe me, ask Paige. And Shaun! They can all vouch for me," said Melody, pointing at them. Lucas's gaze inadvertently fell on Shaun and Paige. "Is that so?"

Lucas nodded. "Thank you all. I'll cover the bill tonight."
With that, he helped Melody to her feet, ready to take her home.
