After settling Mila down, Bella and Justin returned to their room.
Locking the door behind them, Bella was about to voice her concern when Justin held her and sealed her lips. Bella slowly
closed her eyes and clung to him by wrapping her arms around his neck. She melted in his arms.
He carefully picked her up as if she would disappear out of his sight.
It was a deep, lingering kiss.
The air was filled with heavy panting and moaning. His breath, his skin beneath his clothes, and his tongue engulfed all of Bella's
senses.
When the long kiss nearly drained the air out of Bella's lungs, Justin restrained himself from taking things further and released
her.
"I-It's the time of the month. I can't."
Sensing the change in Justin's body, Bella blushed and twirled his necktie around her finger. "If you want, I can help you in
another way." Justin shook his head in tears and kissed her forehead, nose tip, and the corner of her lips...
"Justin, you..."
"Does it still hurt here?"
Justin's shaky palm brushed against her flat stomach, and the warm sensation gave her the tingles.
Reading between the lines, Bella felt a lump in her throat. Still, she said with a faint smile, "It doesn't. The pain left me a long
time ago."
"I'm an idiot. I'm the worst." Despite his restraint, Justin could not stop the tears from rolling down his face.
"I still don't know the extent of the suffering you went through to kneel before the Larsons shouldn't have been Aunt Mila, but
me."
"What are you talking about? Why should you kneel to them?" Bella whined and knocked his forehead with her finger. "I was still
out of it from the surgery. I had no idea what happened. Had I known Aunt Mila went to beg the Larsons, I would rather forgo my
uterus than let her do that."
The past still crept up on Bella. She came off harsh because she cared about Mila. "I know she did it for me, but if it came at the
cost of her dignity, I would rather she didn't." Distressed, Justin caressed her face.
Back then, Bella begged him not to go through with divorce, but he cast her aside anyway. He was trampling on her dignity too.
All she wanted was to stay by his side.
"It's just strange. I can't shake off this strange feeling."
Bella changed the subject and put her finger on her chin in contemplation. "Aunt Mila is acting strange, and so is Arnold. Ash is
not himself either. I have a feeling that Aunt Mila and Ash are hiding something from us."
Justin gave it some thought and replied, "Maybe something is going on with the Larson family, and they didn't want us involved.
Asher is close to Dr. Larson. He must be upset that Dr. Larson is gone." "They are close."
Heck, Bella believed they were never seen without each other.
Arnold would lean close to Asher to talk and make him laugh, like they were lovers.
